Bed according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the container (29) has a double-walled peripheral wall (31) forming the stiffening air chamber (35) and single-walled end walls (36) and that the stiffening air chamber (35) is divided by axially extending webs and/or seams (33) into a plurality of sub-chambers which are elongated in the axial direction and adjoin one another in the circumferential direction and are connected to one another in an air-permeable manner.

6. Bed according to claim 5, characterized in that the inflation valve (37) and the pump inlet valve (39) are provided on the peripheral wall (31) and the pump outlet valve (41) is provided on one of the end walls (36).
