Description
The invention relates to a device for cutting foam with oscillating blades, the blades having a corrugated grinding.
Foam is processed in many different ways. There are machines for cutting shoulder pads from foam bars. A distinction is made between normal shoulder pads and so-called raglan pads. Other foam products include sponges, seat pads, cushions, bust enhancers, molded parts, decoration and packaging, shoulder rollers and balls. These products are also cut from foam, or milled if necessary. In addition to other quality features, the soft textile feel is a special quality feature of shoulder pads. So far, this has not been possible with foam alone. It is therefore common to combine hat and foam. In this combination, the hat provides the soft feel and the foam provides the shape stability.
A major reason why shoulder pads of a special quality with a handle cannot yet be made from foam alone is the manufacturing process. Such shoulder pads are cut with oscillating cutters. The use of razor blade bands is known for such cutters. Razor blade bands are usually steel bands with a thickness of 0.1 to 0.15 mm and a width of around 22 mm. Steels with around 1% carbon are used for these razor blade bands. The bands are first punched and then hardened. This achieves hardnesses of 64 HRC. Testing this hardness is relatively difficult. This is why a tensile test is used. The hardness can be determined very precisely using the tensile strength using a comparison table.
The known knives are used to cut standard foams, but not soft foams. For which foams do these known knives have only a minimal service life, which does not allow for economical production.

In competition to the knives described above, there are known Hesser knives that do not have the high hardness of 64 HRC, for example. The alternative knives available are made from the same razor blade strip, they are only hardened to a low level after punching and then cold rolled. This results in a hardness of approx. 57 HRC. The alternative knives available have the same cutting performance as the well-known conventional knives, as these knives are equipped with a serrated blade.
The alternatively available knives are also only used for standard foams. This means that when cutting which foam? the alternatively available knives also show minimal stability, so that even with these knives it would not be possible to economically manufacture foam products from which foams.
Which foams are considered to be polyether foams with a density of < 18 kg/m 3 and a compression hardness of < 2.5 kPa?
Insofern 1st vorgesehen, ein Material zu verwenden, da« von dtn herkömmlichen Hessern bekannt 1st.The invention is therefore based on the task of creating razors for cutting such foams. According to the invention, this is achieved by using a razor blade strip with a hardness of 62 HRC, preferably 64 HRC. Such hardness can no longer be achieved with cold-rolled razor blade strip. The hardness that can be achieved with cold rolling is max. 57 HRC. The hardness of at least 62 HRC or 64 HRC presupposes that cold rolling is dispensed with. In this respect, it is intended to use a material that is known from conventional razors.
DIetj Befürchtung war Insofern zutreffend, all der MesserichUff nicht mitThe suitability for cutting foam is achieved by a knife blade. The use of the knife blade on such highly hardened razor blade bands was deemed impractical by the companies asked to manufacture the knives. It was feared that the cutting edge of the trade would break. This fear was correct insofar as the knife blade was not

The scissors have a length of 510 mm and are symmetrically provided with 4 holes. All holes not shown are on the center line of the scissors. The inner holes are spaced 240 mm apart, the outer holes are spaced 495 mm apart. A longitudinal slot of about 50 mm is provided in the middle. The longitudinal slot is used to guide the scissors in a scissors guide not shown; the four holes are used to hold the scissors and to tighten the scissors. The four holes and the slot have a diameter and a width of 4 mm.

Furthermore, the sea ship 2 is a wave ship with waves 4, which have been introduced with a height a of 3 - 12 mm, the waves 4 have a depth of 0.2 x 1 mm, 0.8 x 0.2 mm. Thus, the wave depth of the wave cut according to the invention is significantly greater than in the known wave ship with a depth of 0.1 mm.
The same applies to the cutting angle c in the longitudinal direction of the knife 1. The cutting angle c denotes the maximum cutting angle, i.e. in each wave the cutting angle runs from Q' to a maximum cutting angle 1. In the example embodiment, the maximum cutting angle is 60°. According to the invention, the maximum cutting angle c is greater than 30°, but at most 70°, less than 60°. A knife according to the invention therefore differs significantly from the known knives with wave blades, which have a maximum cutting angle of around 10°.
The serrated blade is ground with a profiled (corrugated) grinding body. It is a roller coated with abrasive. The roller is pivotally mounted at both ends and the pivoting movement is limited by a stop. For grinding, the knife is held in a slot in such a way that the knife band is supported as fully as possible on the side facing away from the roller and is still partially enclosed on the side facing the roller. Nevertheless, burr formation cannot be avoided in the serrated blade according to the invention. The burr is raised on the side of the knife facing away from the roller. In the case of knives ground on one side, the burr is pre-removed with a scraper. The cutting edge is then leathered.
