Am Boden ist die Schutzhaube mit einer Auffangwanne für austretende Lösungsmittel gesichert. Der Durchgang für die Versorgungsleitungen der zu betreibenden Glasapparaturen wird durch einen nach innen gerichteten Winkel ausgestattet, um den Austritt von Glassplittern bzw. Lösungsmitteln zu verhindern. Eine leichte Bedienbarkeit wird durch eine faltbare Klappe und durch einen Handgriff im unteren abgewinkelten Teil der Klappe sowie Haltemagnete und Scharniere erreicht. Eine größtmögliche Stabilität wird durch Abkanten an allen Seiten bewirkt. Dadurch kann die Materialstärke gering gehalten werden.
