The innovation relates to a refrigerator housing with an outer housing consisting mainly of metal plate and being essentially rectangular, at least one inner lining defining at least one refrigerated storage space and forming, together with the outer housing, an intermediate space filled with a thermal insulating material expanded in place, preferably polyurethane, said material firmly connecting the housing, said lining and a cover plate forming the upper part of the outer housing. Known cover plates of refrigerator housings have some disadvantages and are difficult to manufacture and use, so that they do not fully meet the requirements. In order to meet these requirements, the refrigerator housing according to the present invention is characterized by having a front wall, a rear wall and two side walls, these last two walls having steps for supporting the top of the side walls of the outer housing, while the other two hands have internal channel-like configurations for cooperating with the skirt wall of the outer housing and the inner lining, respectively.

Outer casing 2 and an inner lining 3, these 2UM lying at a distance from each other in the south of an intermediate space, this intermediate space being filled by the thermal insulating material 7 (for example expanded polyurethane) formed in situ by known methods. The inner lining defines at least one cooling chamber 8.

The outer casing consists of a metal plate and has a cover plate 4 made of a metal plate, which has been constructed in accordance with the present innovation.

The cover plate 4, which is rectangular in the same way as the housing, has (see in particular Fig. 3) on the longitudinal sides 5, 6 a wall formed by three parts 5A, B, C, these parts being offset by 90° from each other, so that the part 5B forms a surface for support on the upper side of the side wall 3A (formed as shown in Fig. 3) of the outer housing 2 and the part 5C forms a means for perfect centering with respect to the rest of the said housing 2. On the back (see Fig. 4) the cover plate 4 has a wall 9 with a longitudinal channel 10 obtained by folding the part of the metal plate that extends to the wall in question. The angled upper end 11 of the rear wall 12, which forms part of the outer housing 2, is housed in this channel.

The front of the cover plate 4, shown in section in Fig. 2a, has a wall 13, the lower end of which is angled to form a longitudinal channel 14 in which the upper corrugated end 15 of the covering 3 is housed in order to accommodate therein a resistance element 16 intended to prevent the formation of ice on the wall 13.
