Such an embodiment can be found in DE-QM 81 33 683*7. The tray disclosed here has front and side walls with different heights. The perforated plates are connected to the front walls at the top. In each perforated plate there is a longitudinal row with recesses of the same size for holding containers filled with food, in particular buckets. Supporting webs can be folded out from the recesses at the bottom and have a much smaller surface area than the recess. Four supporting webs are provided which are glued with four adhesive tabs that can be folded up from the bottom. In order to achieve mutual locking when stacking the crates, it is advantageous if each stacking support has a tenon that projects beyond the support edge, for which a tenon hole is provided in each of the four corner areas of the base.

To achieve high torsional rigidity, it is advantageous if the front and side walls in the area of the perforated plates have the same height and if an adhesive tab is hinged to the front edges of each perforated plate, which overlaps the associated front wall when the crate is erected. In addition, the width of each perforated plate can be slightly larger than half the width of the base, so that a central overlap area is created where the two perforated plates can be connected to one another, preferably glued. In the crate according to the example shown, 24 single packs, 12 double packs, 8 double packs or 4 six-packs can be packed. But the crate can be modified depending on the type and shape of the contents.

Machines are palletized and ensure secure stacking on Euro pallets, thus meeting the requirements for storage and retrieval in high-bay warehouses as well as for safe shipping even over long distances by truck.

The crate is primarily suitable for products that cannot bear any load themselves, such as hollow figures made of chocolate or the like, but also for thin-walled cups of yoghurt, quark or the like.
