Verfahren zur Reinigung tierischer, pflanzlicher oder synthetischer Öle oder Fette Die meisten animalischen und vegetabilischen Öle und Fette enthalten Verunreinigungen, welche entfernt werden müssen, um die Öle oder Fette für den menschlichen Genuß sowie für viele technische Zwecke geeignet zu machen. Die im Öl oder Fett befindlichen Eiweiß-, Schleimstoffe u. dgl. werden meist durch Mineralsäuren und die freien Fettsäuren durch schwache oder stark alkalische Lösungen od. dgl. in Form von Seife entfernt. Die bei der Behandlung mit Alkalien gebildeten Seifenflocken setzen sich während und nach der Neutralisation im unteren Teil des Raffinationsgefäßes ab und werden von dem darüberstehenden Neutralöl meist durch Dekantierung getrennt. Das Neutralöl,. das geringe Seifenmengen aufgenommen hat, wird hierauf mit heißem Wasser so lange gewaschen, bis alle Seife entfernt ist. Synthetische Öle und Fette, welche durch Oxydation von Paraffinen u. dgl. sowie durch Veresterung der Fettsäuren durch Glycerin erhalten werden, enthalten keine Eiweißstoffe u. dgl., wähl aber freie Fettsäuren. Es ist daher in diesem Falle eine Reinigung mit Mineralsäure nicht erforderlich, wohl aber eine Behandlung mit Alkalien zwecks Entfernung der freien Fettsäure. Nach dem Auswaschen der Seifen mit heißem Wasser werden die neutralen Öle und Fette im Vakuum getrocknet und dann mit Bleich-,erde gebleicht. Die Trennung der Bleicherde von dem gebleichten- Öl erfolgt darauf meist durch Filterpressen. Das vorgereinigte Öl wird hierauf in einen mit Rührwerk und Heizvor-# richteng versehenen Apparat gebracht, wo die freien Fettsäuren unter Rühren durch Alkalilösungen od. dgl., z. B. Natriumcarbonat- oder Ätznatronlösungen, verseift werden. In. gewissen Fällen wird nur ein Teil der vorhandenen freien Fettsäure neutralisiert und der Rest später, z. B. bei der Desodorisation, abdestilliert.
