; Such an upholstery material is known from DBGM 84 26 580. The known upholstery material is designed as a multi-layer quilted fleece, the individual layers of which consist of different fibers. While single-layer upholstery fleece with uniform fibers, if a very fine fiber is selected, it is soft but not sufficiently resilient, and if a very coarse fiber is selected, it is good to be able to recover, but not sufficiently soft for the upholstery, the upholstery material known from DBGM 84 26 580, due to its multi-layer structure , allows one layer to be assigned the property of softness (layer of fine fibers) and the other layer to be assigned the property of recovery (layer of coarse fibers), thus achieving the

However, there have been cases where an even greater recovery capacity has been requested than can be achieved with the multi-layer fleece.* An example of such a case is cubic upholstered furniture, which should always return to the exact cube shape after being subjected to a load.

The innovation is based on the task of improving the known upholstery material mentioned at the beginning so that it has an even greater ability to recover while remaining as soft as possible and is also easy to handle during processing. This task is solved according to the _innovation by adding a foam layer to the fleece layer as an additional layer.

Due to this design, in particular the combination of both materials, a very high recovery capacity of the upholstery material can be achieved, which can be further increased by special adjustment of certain foam properties.

According to a further feature of the innovation, the foam layer is made of a soft foam. This ensures that the foam layer does not impair the softness of the cushion, especially since in the position of use of the cushion material it advantageously represents the area of the cushion that is removed from the surface of the cushion, i.e. it forms the under-padding.

For normal applications, it has proven to be useful if the foam layer has a minimum thickness of 10 mm. This thickness of the foam layer is sufficient to provide the necessary recovery capacity.

In a further development of the innovation, the foam layer also has a textile cover on its outside. Such a cover improves the sliding properties of the upholstery material when it is inserted into covers, e.g. pillow cases.

The drawing shows a cushioning material 1 which has a sandwich-like structure: it has a two-stage cushioning content which consists of a fleece layer 2 and a foam layer 3 and is provided on its two large outer sides with a covering 4 or 5 in the form of a spunbond. 6 designates a quilting which - as can be seen from Fig. 1 - extends through all four layers or f~\ layers of the cushioning material 1.

In the embodiment shown, the fleece layer 2 consists of siliconized 13 dtex polyester hollow fibers and gives the padding a high level of softness with a fleece weight of about 350 g/m. The foam layer 3 is made of a soft foam: it has about the same thickness (about 19 mm) as the fleece layer 2. The upper cover 4 is a polyamide spunbond, the lower cover 5 is a polypropylene spunbond. The seam spacing of the quilting 6 is about 100 mm, the stitch spacing about 30 mm. With a total thickness of the padding material 1 of about 39 mm, the surface weight is 785 g/m ² .

The new upholstery material is used primarily for the seat, arm and backrest of upholstered furniture, where it is quilted with the outer fabrics - especially in the seating area - or processed as a ready-made cut.

Claims (5)

Protection claims 1. Upholstery material in the form of a multi-layer sheet, sheet or similar, in which one layer is designed as a fleece made of organic and/or synthetic fiber material, which has a textile covering on the outside, the layers including the covering being quilted together, characterized in that the fleece layer (2) is assigned a foam layer (3) as a further layer. 2. Upholstery material according to claim 1, characterized in that the foam layer (3) consists of a soft foam. 3. Upholstery material according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the foam layer (3) in the position of use of the upholstery material (1) represents the area of the material remote from the surface of the upholstery. 4. Cushioning material according to at least one of claims 1-3, characterized in that the foam layer (3) has a minimum thickness of 10 mm. 5. Upholstery material according to at least one of claims 1-4, characterized in that the foam layer (i) has a textile covering (5) on its outside.
