Der mangelnde Gasaustausch hat zur Folge, dass die günstigen physiologischen Eigenschaften teurer Polstermaterialien nicht zum Tragen kommen. Bei Verwendung mit Polstermaterialien aus Feintierhaar muss gewöhnlich unter dem Gewirk ein Vlies eingelegt werden, weil es sonst leicht von gröberen Fasern durchstochen würde. Das Vlies behindert aber Gas- und Feuchtigkeitsaustausch, sodass auch hier wieder die Eigenschaften des oft teuren Polstermaterials nicht zur Geltung kommen. Der erfindungsgemässe Bezugsstoff weist eine grosse Oberfläche auf, welche rasch viel Feuchtigkeit aufnehmen kann, sodass er sich trocken anfühlt und sich das erwünschte Initialwärmegefühl einstellt.
