Description

Process for the production of a floor cleaning agent For cleaning polished floors, i. H. The usual wax solvents such as turpentine oil and the so-called white spirit are used to remove the soiled and partly gummy wax residues that form when walking on it. For health reasons, chlorinated hydrocarbons are not considered. Sometimes the solvents contain some paraffin as a thickening agent.

Although these floor cleaning agents dissolve the wax residues very well, they have the disadvantage that they evaporate very quickly and that the loosened dirt can only be removed by immediately wiping it up with a cloth. As a result, only a small area of the floor can be cleaned at a time, making cleaning with them clumsy and often inconsistent. It has now been found that a particularly suitable floor cleaning agent is obtained if you add higher molecular weight alkyl aromatic sulfonates, such as, for. B. dodecylbenzenesulfonate, advantageously as ammonium or Äfhanolamins # alze or as salts of organic bases, such as cyclohexylamine ti. Ä., adds. The sulfonates dissolve clearly in the solvent, especially when so-called solubilizers such as hexalin, methylhexalin, pine oil and the like are used The wax residues are completely dissolved by them in the same way as when using pure solvents. Their special value, however, lies in the fact that they do not have to be taken up immediately with dry cloths, but that they are removed by adding the above-mentioned bodies, depending on the amount thereof , become water-soluble or emulsifiable in water together with the dirt. They can therefore be easily removed by rinsing with water after they have been exposed for some time.
