Nickel vernichtet z. B. schon bei einem Gehalt
von i o-5 o/a die Phosphoreszenz fast vollständig.
Derartige
Kobaltgehalte zerstören die Lumineszenz von Zinksulfidkupferleuchtfarben vollkommen.Zinc sulphide fluorescent paint For the production of zinc sulphide fluorescent paints
generally the purest zinc sulfide obtained by precipitation with the exciter metal
and the flux mixed and then annealed. As a stimulus metal for long afterglow
Based on previous experience, only copper is considered to be zinc sulfide phosphate.
The main flux agents used are chlorides of alkalis or alkaline earths. It
it is known that in the production of zinc sulfide fluorescent paints, the purity is high
the starting materials is required. In particular, the ferrous metals, iron,
Cobalt and nickel are very annoying. Nickel destroys z. B. already with a salary
from i o-5 o / a the phosphorescence is almost complete. A cobalt addition to the Lithopone
is already known, namely to improve lightfastness. The one used
The cobalt content is in the order of magnitude of 10-20 / o Co based on zinc sulfide. Such
Cobalt contents completely destroy the luminescence of zinc sulfide copper fluorescent colors.
Leuchtfarben üblichen Kupfermenge von etwa o;oi o/o Du und mit einem Schmelzmittel;
z. B. 5 % Kaliumchlorid, gut vermischt.
beide Ansätze in. Quarztiegeln i Stunde lang bei ii5o° geglüht, anschließend durch
Waschen vom Schmelzmittel befreit und getrocknet. Beim Vergleich beider Leuchtfarben
Surprisingly, it has now been found that they are lower by powers of ten
Cobalt content, in the range from io-s to io-31 / o Co, the afterglow time of zinc sulfide copper fluorescent colors
extend. The success shows very clearly if you look at the following comparison experiment
Carries out: A very pure zinc sulfide, which is produced by precipitating a purified zinc salt solution
is obtained with hydrogen sulfide, is used with the preparation
from
Luminous colors usual amount of copper of about o; oi o / o Du and with a flux;
z. B. 5% potassium chloride, mixed well. Then the approach is divided into two parts
and one part is mixed with an addition of a very dilute cobalt salt solution,
so that 1o-7 parts of cobalt come to one part of zinc sulfide (10–5% Co). Then will
Both approaches were annealed in quartz crucibles for 1 hour at 150 °, then thoroughly
Washing freed from flux and dried. When comparing both luminous colors
it turns out that the cobalt-containing zinc sulfide copper fluorescent paint lasts much longer
afterglow than the cobalt-free one. In the first 2 hours after stimulation
the phosphorescence of the cobalt-free paint is slightly stronger. Then it is reversed
Ratio around, and the cobalt-containing color remains lighter. After 15 to 20 hours
the afterglow of the cobalt-containing color is very clearly noticeable while
that the cobalt-free luminescent color is much weaker after this period of time. Of the
So the addition of cobalt causes a much flatter course of the so-called decay curve,
the brightness-time curve. The total stored light energy, the light sum,
is likely to be about the same in both cases. The lightfastness of zinc sulfide
is not noticeably improved by such low cobalt contents.
The effect of the phosphorescence extension is particularly valuable
for use in exterior paintwork, as here one has a twilight period of
about 2 to 3 hours. After this time comes the stronger and longer one
Afterglow of the cobalt-containing zinc sulfide copper fluorescent paint comes into its own.
