The invention relates to a fluorescent lamp with excitation of the

The fluorescent surface or the fluorescent material do not form part of the latter
bearing surface is enlarged, preferably without increasing the external dimensions
the lamp. The invention results in a more compact one with the same electrical output
Design of the lamp or an improvement in the light output or both brought about,
because the enlargement of the area carrying the phosphor increases the current load of the
Reduced surface unit of the fluorescent coating. The construction of such lamps should start
Examples of the first for cathode ray fluorescent lamps that have a cylindrical
Have discharge vessel, are explained in more detail.
Leuchtstofflampen.Fig. Z shows in cross section a cylindrical discharge vessel, the

The internals are appropriate insofar as they consist of several parts or sections
exist, combined into a whole and inserted as such into the discharge vessel,
be it that they are made from one piece or united by connecting links
are. For example, Fig: shows. 2 one made of thin-walled glass blown lengthways

The examples given relate, as mentioned, to cathode ray fluorescent lamps. at
the application of the same principle to lamps whose fluorescent material is produced by ultra-violet radiation
a gas discharge is excited, the same are shown in the figures
Executions of the design of the fluorescent tube or the support for the fluorescent material
(Internals) can be used, only the electrodes are not to be arranged axially concentrically,
but to think of the ends of the pipe drawn in cross-section, -z. B. at
AC lamps at each end of the tube have a hot cathode as with the usual
Fluorescent lamps.
Instead of a corrugated (corrugated)
Using fluorescent supports as shown in Fig. 2 can also result in an even more intensive magnification
the fluorescent surface can be achieved in that the fluorescent carrier, for. B. the
Glass film or the hollow body made of thin glass, a large number of z. B. frustoconical,
contains radially directed indentations.
