Process for the preparation of inks or gravure printing inks which produce water-resistant characters or prints It has been found that inks or gravure inks which produce water-resistant characters or prints are obtained if the high molecular weight, e.g. B. above 6o # - melting aliphatic hydrocarbons and saponification available products dyes incorporated. Particularly suitable are the saponification products of the products which are formed when the high molecular weight fractions of the hydrocarbons obtained in the hydrogenation of carbon dioxide are not completely oxidized. The oxidation can be carried out in the usual way with air or other oxygen-containing gases at elevated temperature in the presence of catalysts, and for the present purpose it is only oxidized to the extent that the acid number of the oxidation product is significantly below that which is assumed if a Carboxyl group calculated per average molecule of the starting material. The oxidation product is then e.g. B. saponified with alkali hydroxide and at the same time, before or afterwards in the molten state with fat-soluble dyes, such as nigrosine bases or colored dye bases as such or their wax-soluble salts with high molecular weight fatty acids, mixed. Other color bodies can also be added, e.g. B. Sudan dyes, also finely divided pigments as such or in dough form, such as carbon black, permanent black, Phtbalocyanine, ultramarine, and water-soluble acidic and substantive dyes. The inks or printing inks thus obtained can be used beforehand, e.g. B. to adjust the color strength, add other solid hydrocarbons or waxes. They can also be combined with resin solutions, such as shellac-borax solutions, shellac-ammonia solutions, synthetic resin solutions prepared with the aid of potash or ammonia, and the like. Emulsifiers, thickeners and antifreeze agents, such as butanol, polyacrylic acid sodium or ammonium, glycerol and other polyhydric alcohols can also be added. The inks and printing inks produced in this way are very resistant to water when dry, cannot be wiped off and do not bleed through paper.
ständigem Umrühren noch i Stunde lang fort.
Teilen Wasser. Dann setzt man 5o Teile heißes Wasser, in dem 9, Teile wasserlösliches
Nigrosin (Schultz, Farbstoff-Tabelle, 7.
Printing inks have already been produced by combining soaps, including those made from fatty acids from paraffin oxidation, with dyes. In comparison with this, the printing inks according to the present process show a significantly higher water resistance. EXAMPLE 1 At about 100 ', 4.25 parts of an oxidation product that has not yet been saponified and obtained according to Example 2 of Patent 749 806 is melted, and o.75 parts of nigrosine base are gradually added to the melt with thorough stirring (Schultz, dye table, 7, ed ., No. 985) and the heating continues for an hour while stirring constantly. Then add to the melt - parts of a mixture of extremely high molecular weight hydrocarbons from the catalytic hydrogenation of carbon monoxide, which melts at 100%, and the melt is saponified with a boiling solution of 0.5 parts of potassium carbonate in 36.5 parts of water. Then 50 parts of hot water, in which 9 parts of water-soluble nigrosine (Schultz, Dye Table, 7th Edition, No. 986) are dissolved and 4 parts of permanent fast black PT are suspended, are added with stirring, allowed to cool and with constant stirring is the mixture through a fine - mesh.
Farbstoff-Tabelle, 7. Aufl., Nr. 671) anwenden. Man erhält jeweils eine tiefschwarze,
sehr gut naßwischechte Tinte.Instead of the nigrosine base, you can also use direct deep black EW extra (Schultz, dye table, 7th edition, no. 671). In each case, a deep black, very good wet-wipe-fast ink is obtained.
Instead of emulsifying the wax substances alone with the addition of potassium carbonate, emulsifiers can also be used, e.g. B. an addition compound of 1 mole of a dodecyl or octodecyl phenol and 15 to 25 moles of ethylene oxide by using 0.5 parts of it and only 0.3 parts of potassium carbonate. The ink described can also be mixed with a shellac-ammonia solution made from 250 parts of bleached shellac, 50 parts of 20% ammonia and 750 parts of water. Synthetic resins saponified with ammonia or mild alkalis can also be used instead of shellac.
Beispiel 9, Auf die in Beispiel i beschriebene Weise vermischt man
rote Tinte.Example 9, in the manner described in example i, mix 2 parts of the oxidation product used there, 9 parts of the mixture of high molecular weight hydrocarbons also mentioned there, which melts at 100%, with a boiling hot solution of 0.5 part of potassium carbonate in 40 parts of water, gradually introduces 5 parts of fine lamp soot and then dilutes it with a further 50 parts of water. The ink-like product obtained in this way can, as indicated in Example i, be combined with resin solutions. Example 3 4 parts of a product made according to patent 749 8o6 with an acid number of 50 are mixed with a boiling-hot solution of 0.5 parts of potassium carbonate in 3o parts of water, and 10 parts of a 20% dough of litholechtscharlach RN double dough (Schultz, Dye Table, 7th Edition, No. 86) and diluted with a further 45 parts of water. In this way, a red ink with good waterfastness is obtained.
Verwendet man statt des genannten Pigments z. B. io Teile Kupferphthalocyanin
Is used instead of the pigment mentioned z. B. 10 parts of copper phthalocyanine in dough form, a blue ink is obtained. If the dye content is doubled and then 2 parts are mixed with 1 part of the resin solution described above, a product that can be used as an Indian ink is obtained. Example 4 A mixture of 80 parts of the oxidation product used there and 80 parts of high-melting paraffin with 29 parts of ig 'B6 potassium hydroxide solution, diluted with 892 parts of water, and 250 parts of a 9.5% solution are saponified, as described in Example i of sodium polyacrylate in water, dissolves 55 parts of green PLX (S chultz, Dye Table, 7th edition, No. 5) in the mixture and thus obtains an easily and cleanly printable green gravure printing ink.
7. Aufl., Nr. 539) zusetzt.A similar, red gravure printing ink can be produced if, instead of green PLX, the same amount of brilliant crocein MOO (Schultz, dye table, 7th edition, no. 539) is added.
