The invention relates to a device for stabilizing missiles in the form of warheads according to the preamble of claim 1.
Der technische Aufwand eines solchen Geschosses ist beispielsweise für Hehrzweckgeschosse, die aus sogenanntenA projectile of this type has become known through DE-OS 33 27 945, in which the drive part is mounted coaxially around the payload part to reduce the overall length in the firing position. This makes handling in tight combat spaces, such as tank turrets, easier and also saves storage and transport space. However, this device has the disadvantage that a series of precision engineering components must be used for sealing, locking and stabilization, which must be very precisely coordinated with one another in terms of their function and mode of operation. For example, a drive disk as the rear disk must absorb the full propellant charge pressure during firing and at the same time allow a very specific portion of the propellant charge gases to penetrate into the rear area of the projectile drive part, which must then be sealed off from the front part of the projectile - the so-called payload part. In addition, a forward displacement of this payload part during the firing phase must be prevented by an additional locking mechanism, which must, however, be dimensioned in such a way that it ceases to work immediately after the inertia forces have been eliminated and allows the displacement of the payload part after leaving the gun barrel, thereby releasing the tail unit for stabilization and at the same time igniting the fuel in the drive unit and releasing the gas flow channel. The technical complexity of such a projectile is, for example, comparable to military projectiles, which consist of so-called

The present invention is based on the object of eliminating these disadvantages and of creating a device of the type mentioned which is not only optimal for storage and transport, but also has compact dimensions and is brought into an aerodynamically optimal shape immediately after ejection.

As can be seen from Fig. 1 and 2, a warhead 10 is provided with an additional air guide casing 11, which covers the tail unit support 12 when pushed into the rest or transport position. This air guide casing has several air inlet channels 11a on its circumference.
The pot-shaped tail unit support 12 is now mounted in the cavity formed by the warhead 10 and the air guide casing II, whereby the tail unit wings 13, which are pre-tensioned under spring pressure, are held in this state by the air guide casing. The base 13c of the tail unit support 12 or the gas storage space 14a serves as a collecting surface for the propellant gases during the launch of the warhead from a tube.
In one embodiment, it is provided that the tail unit or the tail unit carrier 12 is extended by the gases of a gas generator 14, which is arranged in the rear of the warhead 10 and whose gases cause the extension of the tail unit carrier 12 by exerting pressure on the floor 13c. This extension is now significantly supported by the air flow flowing in via the air inlet channels 11a, which also contributes significantly to stabilizing the warhead 10 on its flight path.
As can be seen in particular from Fig. 2, the tail unit carrier 12 has an end stop 12a, which is caught by the stop 15 of the warhead 10. The tail unit wings 13 are arranged so that they can pivot in the wing bearings 13a, 13b, with a spring (not shown) bringing each wing into the working position immediately after leaving the air guide.

By extending and folding out the tail wings, which are also referred to as stabilization fins, a favorable lever arm is formed to the center of gravity S of the warhead 10, which ensures optimal stabilization on the desired flight path.
3, 4 and 5, a further embodiment is shown in which an automatic displacement of the tail unit support 12 is achieved by the air flowing in via the air inlet channels 11a. This eliminates the need for a gas generator. In order to obtain a dynamic pressure space lib between the warhead 10 and the air guide casing 11 in this case, it is provided that the end stop 12a of the tail unit support 12 and the wing bearing 13a facing the warhead tip are equipped with so-called sealing ring strips - as are known, for example, from Wankel engines - 16a and 16b respectively. The sealing ring strip 16a is mounted in a groove 12b of the end stop 12a and is pressed against the inner surface of the air guide casing 11 by compression springs. Furthermore, the sealing ring strips 16b, which are smaller in height, are arranged in the grooves of the wing bearing 13a. When the tail unit support 12 is retracted, the sealing ring strips largely close the storage space 11b, so that they form catch surfaces for the air flowing in via the air inlet channels 11a and convert the resulting air pressure into kinetic energy for the tail unit support, i.e. they extend this support into its flight stabilization position. So that no additional air resistance is created when the support is extended, the pressure

The same can happen with the sealing ring strips 16b, but these could also remain in the wing bearing 13b, since they only protrude relatively little into the air flow. Here it would also be possible to dimension the wing bearing 13a so that it also takes over the function of the sealing ring strip. It is advantageous if the sealing ring strips 16a are offset in their positional arrangement on the circumference of the tail unit support relative to the sealing ring strips 16b, so to speak "with a gap".
In embodiments, a further variant for driving out the tail unit body 12 is provided, this is accomplished by means of a compression spring dimensioned according to the force to be applied. It is also possible to carry out the final locking of the tail unit support 12 by means of a self-locking run-on cone or cone.
