The invention relates to a suitcase or the like, the base part and the lid part of which can be closed or opened by means of a zipper or two zippers, whereby this or these have two or one slide each, which carry out an opposing opening and closing movement and are equipped with a handle tab.

In such cases or similar, it is known to provide locks on the zipper slides to protect the contents of the case from unauthorized access.

Zipper slides with built-in locking mechanisms are known, but these are prone to failure and not very stable due to the limited space, and each zipper slide must be locked and unlocked.

This requires a certain amount of skill, not to mention the fact that an undesirably large gap remains between the two zipper slides, which allows manipulation; rattling noises occur during transport.

It is also known to install specially designed zipper locks, in which the handle tabs of the zipper slides are placed over pins, mandrels or similar on the lock and then covered by a movable, lockable lock part. This solution proves to be comparatively complex.

Based on this state of the art, the invention is based on the object of improving a suitcase or the like of the type mentioned above while avoiding the aforementioned disadvantages in such a way that a secure and quick locking or unlocking of the two zipper slides of one or two zippers is possible in a simple manner by using conventional locks.

known suitcase or portfolio lock is attached to the suitcase material by means of a counter plate and that the handle tabs are provided with hooks, eyes or the like, which extend into a locking opening in the lock in their locking position and are engaged behind or through by the locking head of the lock. The handle tabs of the two zipper slides are fixed by the locking head of a lock provided for both slides, so that the handle tabs and thus the zipper slides can be locked and unlocked quickly and easily.

It is advantageous to provide a protruding stop on the walking plate, which extends between the two slides in their closed position. The protruding stop serves to limit the movement of the zipper slides.

To hold the zipper or zippers, which are usually sewn onto flexible suitcase material, the protruding stop is designed as a hook and thus prevents the zipper or zippers from moving up or down.

According to a further feature of the invention, a lifting spring is mounted in the locking opening of the lock.

The protruding stop 11 is designed as a hook 12 and prevents the zipper 3, which is usually sewn onto flexible suitcase material, from moving up or down.

In the area of the locking opening 9 of the lock 6, a lifting spring 13 is arranged, which lifts the grip tabs 5 after the pull button is actuated so that they can be easily grasped.
