Description
Decorative process for separating the reaction products in the production of acrylonitrile from acetylene and hydrogen cyanide. During the production of acrylonitrile from acetylene and hydrocyanic acid with the aid of liquid or solid catalysts, a number of organic by-products are created which have their origin in the formation of monovinylacetylene. In this process, the two processes compete i. CH -CH + HCN = CH, = CH-CN e.g. aCH --- CH = CHZ = CH-C = CH in such a way that with excess hydrogen cyanide reaction i is preferred and the formation of monovinylacetylene according to equation z is suppressed, but not completely suppressed. The resulting monovinylacetylene continues to react easily and settles if one z. B. to prepare the acrylonitrile an acidic copper (I) chloride solution is used, with acetylene to divinylacetylene, with hydrocyanic acid to cyanobutadiene and with hydrochloric acid to chlorobutadiene. Monovinylacetylene and especially divinylacetylene also tend to become resinous. In addition, acetaldehyde is formed, which can react with hydrogen cyanide to form lactic acid nitrile. For this reason, efforts are made to avoid the formation of monovinylacetylene as far as possible by maintaining a certain hydrogen cyanide concentration, but this can only be carried out to a certain extent, since excessive amounts of hydrogen cyanide reduce the performance of the catalyst.
In the technical implementation of the acrylonitrile synthesis one leads the excess acetylene as so-called cycle gas to the reaction chamber back, thereby carefully removing the monovinylacetylene and the others By-products is necessary in order not to increase the content of by-products.
To separate the reaction products from the cycle gas has already been a freezing of the gas mixture to about -7o ', eliminating all ingredients except Acetylene are condensed, and a subsequent distillation of the reaction products suggested.
It is also known that the acrylonitrile can be used together with the others hydrophilic constituents of the gas mixture, e.g. B: Hydrocyanic acid and acetaldehyde, through Wash with water can remove. Mono- and divinylacetylene are then used condensed by freezing after prior drying of the - gas mixture.
It has now been found that this is the case with the reaction of acetylene Acrylic formed and hydrocyanic acid. nitrile and the resulting by-products, e.g. B. . Mono- and divinylacetylene and acetaldehyde and the like from the excess acetylene can be separated particularly advantageous if you leave the reaction space Gas mixture washes with an organic liquid in which both acrylonitrile and the by-products formed are also soluble.
Organic liquids can preferably be used as such solvents - which do not react finitely with the substances contained in the cycle gas and which the formation of acrylonitrile in the reaction space; in which they correspond to their Vapor pressure reach, do not disturb. It is therefore preferable to become unreactive Choose substances with a high boiling point, e.g. B: aliphatic or cyclic cabbage hydrocarbons, wfe Petroleum products, paraffin oil; Toluene, xylene, tetrahydronaphthalene. But it can Also monohydric and polyhydric alcohols, acids, esters, ethers, acetals or .. Nitrila use. Bai liquids with low dissolving power can do this by using increased by increased pressure and by working at reduced temperature. The washing process is expediently carried out according to the countercurrent principle in one tower filled with random packings.
The recovery of the acrylonitrile and the separation of the by-products can be done by fractional distillation. Made of immiscible with water In washing liquids, the acrylonitrile can also be extracted with water. at A second wash of the cycle gas can be carried out using water-soluble washing liquids connect with water to the contained in the cycle gas according to their vapor pressure To remove washing liquid from it. An expedient execution of the procedure b, - means using, if necessary, supercooled acrylonitrile for washing, whereby at the same time from the cycle gas leaving the reaction tower the formed Acrylonitrile is condensed out and the by-products are dissolved out. Example from an apparatus in which a copper (I) chloride solution of acetylene and hydrocyanic acid Acrylonitrile was produced, 5o 1 per hour of cycle gas with a monovinylacetylene content of about 5% and placed in a tower filled with Raschig rings with butanol washed. The amount of utanol used per hour was 20 1. The washed cycle gas was passed through a condensation vessel cooled to about -60 °. In the retired The condensate, the bulk of which consisted of butanol and dissolved acetylene, was monovinylacetylene only to be proven in traces. The washing butanol that drained from the wash tower was made by fractional distillation. worked up. It was obtained as a low-boiling point Fraction the dissolved acetylene, monovinylacetylene and acetaldehyde. After an abortion of the acrylonitrile formed was then obtained the butanol, which was fed into the washing tower was returned. In the B. lasan residue was that from acetaldehyde and excess Hydrocyanic acid produced by lactic acid nitrile.
Dieser Überschuß wird aus der Waschflüssigkeit entfernt.'If you use acrylonitrile in the same way. of butanol as washing liquid, then in the distillation of the washing liquid the fraction which contains the acrylonitrile, are passed through a separator to remove the azeotrope to separate carried water from it. The amount of serving as washing liquid Acrylonitrile increases according to the acrylonitrile formed in the reaction space. This excess is removed from the washing liquid.
