Process for the production of water-soluble gravure printing inks
The invention relates to a process for the production of oil-free, indelible water gravure printing inks
based on sulphite waste liquor.
Druck Ausflockungen erzeugen. The sulphite waste liquor that occurs in large quantities during cellulose production
when thickened, cannot be used for the stated purpose alone,
because the printed matter can be easily wiped off with water and as a result of the
the tendency to stickiness adhering to the sulphite waste liquor does not result in trouble-free printing
is possible. Those known in paint technology and adhesive production
Additives intended to reduce the water solubility of the sulphite waste liquor come
for water gravure printing inks out of the question, as they are on the one hand with the fine distribution
show no effect by printing on paper and on the other hand by continuous
Pressure create flocculation.
An
It has now been found that using sulphite waste liquor
Can produce oil-free and indelible gravure printing inks that the sulphite waste liquor
mixed with ammonia or the like until an alkaline reaction occurs, then a mixture
of water, alcohol and colloidally soluble in water alumina gel added and this
Binder is mixed with formic acid until the reaction is clearly acidic. At

step. Dyes are then rubbed in with this binder, depending on the desired tone.
The new paint produced in this way has the advantage of being flawless,
on the printing paper that is what becomes indelible and water-resistant. While
with the previously used gravure printing inks when the
Machine, in the course of which paint dries, cleaning the etching with solvents
or alkalis cannot be avoided, the new color dissolves even after hours
Machine standstill, dried up paint immediately, as with oil paint, as soon as
the machine is running again.
Beispiele

In addition, the machine parts that have come into contact with the new paint and the hands of the operating personnel can easily be cleaned with water without the aid of solvents and detergents that attack the skin, as is the case with conventional gravure printing inks. The excess of formic acid not only does not attack the copper cylinder, but, as practice shows, improves the ability of the ink to squeegee the ink so significantly that the wear and tear on the material is reduced. EXAMPLES 300 kg of Sufit waste liquor from 32 to 36 ° Be are stirred in a high-speed mixer with 10 kg of ammonia of D 15'0 = 0.910 and with a solution of 75 kg of alumina gel water-soluble in 75 kg of water and 75 kg of alcohol until homogeneous mixed by means of an electric stirrer or in a stirrer. Then 60% formic acid is added until the reaction is clearly acidic. This binder is rubbed with pigment dyes and water- or fuel-soluble dyes. Example I.
