Isoliermaterial mit niedrigem WärmedurchgangInsulating material with low heat transfer
It is known to use plastic foams for insulation against heat loss. One uses the included one Air, which reduces heat transfer to the outside world. But it is overlooked that the Heat transfer always consists of two components: heat conduction and heat radiation. When using from plastic foam sheets only the losses through thermal conduction are reduced, the losses through thermal radiation are not taken into account. There are already plastic foam sheets mainly made of polystyrene or polyurethane foam (open-cell) with which attempts are made, reduce the losses caused by thermal radiation. These panels have an aluminum foil on top of the plastic foam laminated. Here the effect of the reduction in heat radiation is nullified again, because of the solid When the aluminum foil is connected to the plastic foam sheet, some of the heat is lost again through thermal conduction goes. Another disadvantage is that the previously used plastic foam sheets such as polystyrene or Polyurethane itself absorbs infrared rays and is therefore, to a certain extent, a good conductor of heat are.

Polyethylene foams, on the other hand, have good impact sound resistance And are highly transparent to infrared rays, unless they contain any dyes or additives are provided, but also have one because of their high transparency against infrared rays relatively low thermal insulation, because with this material the heat is lost through radiation.
The innovation now relates to a structure in which both the radiation losses and the heat conduction losses can be reduced to a minimum.
For example, if you use a structure made of three layers of PE foam e.g. each 3 - 5 mm thick and loosely lay a thin, high-gloss aluminum foil * in between should be between 10 and a maximum of 50 / U m (usually at 10 / U m) and not glued to the foam sheets so that there is still a thin layer of air with a high alpha value between the aluminum foil and the foam foil can build up, then all infrared rays are reflected and you get excellent thermal insulation. To avoid The foils are covered with a fabric strip to remove thermal bridges at the edges of the sheets and for easier handling and sewn together lengthways. Surface gluing or welding results in thermal bridges, on which condensation and, as a result, corrosion can form. and prevents the radiation effect through the aluminum foil. By welding the edges, diffusion-tightness can also be achieved.
With the arrangement described above as a new feature, a k-value of 3 W / m C is achieved, for example, with a layer thickness of about 10 mm. In comparison, the k value of a sheet of polystyrene foam of the same thickness is 6.5 W / m 0 C and the k value of a polypropylene foam is 10.7 W / m G. All values were based on a layer thickness of 10 mm.
