Description

Method of souring green fodder in an effort to cattle the green fodder in the most biologically wholesome form possible, even in the winter months supply, agriculture has long since switched to that To acidify green fodder in silo containers. About the natural acidification that occurs here supporting and eliminating unwanted side reactions is already the Attempts have been made to add mineral acids to the silage. You can do it later moved to organic acids, especially formic acid, for these purposes use. Good experiences have also been made with other additives, e.g. B. with sugar denatured by cattle salt and molasses. It was found that for these purposes the production of fermentation citric acid after precipitation of the Calcium citrate remaining mother liquor, in addition to some sugar and proteins consists of various organic acids, is particularly suitable. The waste liquor can be used as such or more advantageously after weak acidification with mineral acid, z. B. sulfuric acid can be used. You can also use one of the previously known Acidulants are mixed. The particular advantage of this way of working is not only in the fact that you get a green fodder which is in no way behind the best won so far, but especially in the fact that a waste product can be used that has so far hardly had any technical use could be made subservient.

Embodiment 100 kg of lupins are crushed and mixed with 12.5 kg of fermentation liquor weakly acidified with sulfuric acid during the pulping process in such a way that they are finally covered with the juice and the fermentation length. The fermentation container is then closed airtight with a cover provided with a fermentation pipe. After 7 months, the fermentation feed has a pH value of 3.8. It has a pleasant aromatic smell and an olive green color. The analysis shows neither a noticeable loss of dry matter nor the undesired formation of ammonia nitrogen.
