Bei der Herstellung elektrischer Leitungen,Kalx1 od. dgl. mit konzentrischem Aufbau, bei dienen also blanke oder isolierte Drähte oder andere Verseilelemente in mehreren konzentrischen Verseillagen angeordnet sind, entstehen in dem verseilten Kernleiter bzw. dien Kernlagen -durch die Verseilung bedingte Spannungen, die vor dem Einliaufen in den V erseilnippel für die Außenlagen zu Verwerfungen führen können, die sich dadurch äußern, daß der Kern bemüht ist, mehr oder weniger stark aus der gestreckten Lage abzuweichen und unter Umständen tsogar Schlingen zu bilden. Diese G,-fahr läßt sich auch durch scharfes Anspannen des Kernleiters nicht völlig verhindern. Die Gefahr solcher Verwerfungen wird desto größer, je kurzer der Verseildrall gewählt wird. Ein kurzer Drall ist aber vor allem zur Erzielung großer Biegsamkeit der Leitung, wie sie für verschiedene Sonderzwecke, z. B. bei Röntgenkabeln od. dgl., gefordert wird, erforderlich.
