Chimney attachment The invention relates to a chimney attachment
with a removable cover plate and with parallel and spaced in front of the side
Smoke outlet openings arranged facing plates for unobstructed and accelerated
Smoke evacuation with every wind direction and chimney position.
With the ones that have become known so far that improve the draft and smoke evacuation
Chimney tops are essentially of two basic types. One kind
is characterized by the fact that the drafts of air that hit the chimney are followed
leads up and lets them work sucking. There is always one in these essays
There is a narrowing of the vent cross-section. It enters from the side
There are upwardly directed draft holes or the like through which the outside air flows in
enters the chimney, is directed upwards and thus has a suction effect. the
But suction only occurs when there is a lively draft from the side, if the speed
the air is larger than that of the smoke in the riser pipe. On the other hand, is the speed
the air is equal to or less than that of the smoke, then the exit cross-section
restricted for the smoke and, since there is no suction effect, the smoke extraction is hindered.
oft ganz aufgehoben. Most of these chimney tops are open at the top and work when they
open on the ridge, in brisk winds and, if buildings are higher up, building parts,
Trees or elevations are not present, just fine. But if the latter are available,
so its effect is due to the drafts of air pounding into the chimney from above
often completely canceled.
The other type of known chimney tops is characterized by
that the drafts that hit the chimney are diverted to the side. It happens
this by means of plate groups that are placed around the smoke outlet openings,
just
or are bent in this or that direction. 'The essays that have become known
do without this type if the smoke outlet openings in thick walls or
Plates lie, a protection against the whirlwinds forming in the soffits,
when the wind sweeps through between the outlet opening and the facing panels
arise and significantly disrupt the smoke outlet. Pass the walls of the smoke outlets
made of thin plates, then those between the outlet opening and the facing plate
piercing winds split and arrive at the sharp edges of the panels
partly in the chimney. To avoid this, there are various designs
the plates bent in one way or another or arranged in several rows.
This then leads to the fact that with rapidly changing winds as a result of the complicated
Exit ways the smoke is prevented from exiting. The wind is probably not blowing in
the chimney, but the smoke cannot come out either, so that in the flue
a stagnation occurs. This causes the smoke to flow through the connected
Heating points in the rooms on the upper floors leaks.
The chimney top according to the invention is an essential one
Improvement of the last described type of essay. It avoids the disadvantages
the same as well as those of the first type and is characterized in that in the
Smoke outlet openings are arranged obliquely upward wind deflectors.
'" Der erfindungsgemäße Schornsteinaufsatz hat folgende Vorteile:
The chimney attachment according to the invention has the following advantages:
i. Any change in cross-section is avoided, as every single one of the four smoke outlet openings
has the same cross-section as the smoke pipe and there the distance and the width
the facing plates are adapted to these, so that even there in an unfavorable wind direction
there is no narrowing of the cross-section. 2. All gusts of wind are from the smoke outlets
diverted and can therefore not get into the chimney. The vortices of air that
that form in the smoke outlet openings are in
derived from the same and thereby rendered harmless. 3. At least the one at that
The side facing away from the wind is exposed for unhindered smoke extraction.
4. The attachment is covered with a removable plate for cleaning,
So that no gusts of wind that o. The like. Vertical or as a result of higher buildings
are directed downwards at an angle, can get into the chimney. 5. All drafts
and gusts of wind, including whirlwinds, have a sucking effect. 6. The chimney top is for
any number of adjacent smoke tubes formed without any effect
less visible than with the single tube. If the pipes are in a row, it becomes an attachment
If they are placed on top of each other, they are in two rows next to each other, so that four pipes each are grounded
moved together and received a joint essay. Also of this type of attachment
Any number can be placed next to each other.

As Fig. I to 3 show, it remains even with the most unfavorable wind direction
always a side opening, the cross-section of which corresponds to that of the chimney, for
unhindered smoke outlet open. This also applies to the chimney tops shown in Fig. 4 to 9
the same prerequisites are given. The chimney tops should be in concrete
executed, but can also be made in other fabrics such as clay, etc.
