Description

  • Riechstoff Es wurde gefunden, daß der 2 -4 -6-Triisopropylbenzylalkohol wegen seines zarten vfoschusgeruchs sich hervorragend als Riechstoff bzw. als Komponente in Riechstoffgemischen verwenden läßt. Das Produkt weist in Riechstoffgemischen auch gute fixierende Eigenschaften auf.
  • 2 - 4 - (;-Triisol>ropyll)enzylalkohol kann z. B. durch katalytische Hydrierung von 2 # 4 - 6-Triisopropylbenzaldehyd (J. Am. Soc. 68, 1946, 533) erhalten werden. Er siedet unter 18 mm Druck bei 16o bis 17o° und schmilzt nach dem Umkristallisieren aus Aceton bei 86 bis 87°.

  1. PATENTANSPRÜCHE: i. Verwendung von 2#4-6-Triisopropylbenzylalkohol als Riechstoff.
  2. 2. Riechstoffmischungen, gekennzeichnet durch einen Gehalt an 2#4#6-Triisopropylbenzylalkohol.
