Description
Method for smoothing and / or fastening the cut edges of Wire mesh or for connecting two wire mesh edges to one another I> ie Schilittkanten of wire meshes are often so sharp, (lukewarm when handling them It is easy to suffer on clothes and especially on hands. To avert this disadvantage, it is known to use fabric laths with an edging to provide. This usually increases the thickness of the panel at its edges. This is a disadvantage for many purposes. In addition, there is the fact that the edging the flexibility of the plate is also impaired. Through the edging On the other hand, the edges are usually also fastened in such a way that Do not tear out the transversely sloping wires. The manufacture of such an edging always causes more or less great difficulties and increases the costs.
The invention relates to a method with which the cut edges A wire mesh plate can be quickly and safely smoothed and attached. The novelty is that the tissue edge with the electrode of an electrical Welding device is painted over, while the fabric itself is known per se Way is in communication with the second pole of a welding machine. It will expediently the electrode material adapted to the material of the wire mesh. Intended to For example, a plate made of bronze smoothed and fastened at its cut edges a carbon electrode is advantageously used. This electrode will in the case of a fine fabric, such as that used for filtering purposes is guided along the edge of the fabric at a speed of 5 to 20 cm / sec. Da-1) ", i, the edge parts become w in the same way, ie in the known resistance welding process heated to approximately melting temperature. All sharp-edged ones disappear Parts and the wires lying next to one another weld with one another. In the Attention must be paid to the implementation of the procedure. that the emergence of a light Bow after '.possibility is avoided'. As a result of the high welding speed When performing this procedure, only the outermost marginal zones of the fabric panel will be removed warmed up; a thermal influence on the other parts of the tissue that lead to a Modification of the strength properties could result, is thus avoided. One accordingly The fabric panel treated according to the invention is not impaired in its flexibility. It differs from the original record, only in that the Edges are smoothed so that injuries can no longer occur and that further the transverse wires are clearly secured in their position.
The method described is also ideally suited for connection two fabric edges together. Will! For example, a screen size required whose Width is greater than. the width of the loom, so can in the manner described one or more webs of fabric are welded to one another. It is the same when a fabric sheet e.g. B. closed ring-shaped for use as a filter bag shall be. In these cases, those to be connected to one another are advantageous The edges of the fabric are laid flat on top of one another and pressed firmly against one another before their End faces are swept over with the electrode, in such a way that this touches both tissue edges. After welding, the two parts can be used again be bent into their extended position. A welded bead on top is more professional Implementation of the procedure does not exist. This is how this procedure differs advantageously from the so far often used autogenous welding, which also has the disadvantage that it thermally creates wider zones of the two tissue edges adversely affected.
When welding two fabric edges together as described, whereby these are first laid flat on top of one another, the compression of the Edges take place during the welding process by Preßvorrich, lines that on the Electrode holders are attached. In this case only takes place in the moment the welding means that the edges of the genes are pressed firmly against each other.
Another possible application of the described welding process results from repairing wire meshes that have torn. The procedure is carried out in the same way as with one-on-one welding of two panels of fabric.
Should be in the implementation of the method according to the invention have resulted in individual nodular thickenings, these can be removed by rolling or hammering can be eliminated in a simple and quick manner, so that practical the strength of the welding edges is not greater than that of the other parts of the fabric panel.
As an exemplary embodiment, a filter bag for is in the drawing Disc filter shown. It shows Fig. I schematically the shape of a finished Bag in a perspective view, FIG. 2 shows a cross section through the bag in the form in which the '#,' ersc hw-e @ eating of the to-be-connected Edges done.
The finished filter bag io, which roughly has the shape of a sector of a circle has, is obtained in that the radially extending @ d # -n edges i i and 12 one corresponding blank connected to one another by a fine weld seam 13 "-erden. So that the weld B has an adverse effect on the actual filter surface does not take place, the bag is advantageously installed as in Fig. 1 of the drawing can be seen, the seam 13 lying on a narrow side of the bag, which is at the finished filter lies between the individual fittings of the filter disc, as a filter surface is therefore not considered.
During the production of the weld seam 13, the fabric cut is made from which the filter bag is to be manufactured, in the one in Fig. 2 of the drawing folded way shown. Care must be taken that the fabric edges i i and 12 close exactly with one another, so that when they are coated with the electrode both edges are touched at the same time. If necessary, the weld seam 13 can then be smoothed by rolling or in any other way.
