In der Gesichtskosmetik ist bekanntlich die richtige Abstimmung der Schminkfarben, z. B. für die Lippen, im Verhältnis zu den Farben der übrigen Gesichtsteile von besonderer Bedeutung. Die Auswahl der dem jeweiligen Geschmack am meisten zusagenden, vorteilhaftesten Schminkfarbe wird jedoch dadurch erschwert, daß es bisher nur möglich ist, durch unmittelbares Auftragen dieser Schminkfarben auf die Haut ihre Wirkung zu beurteilen: Das erfordert beim Vergleich einer größeren Anzahl von Farben ein mehrmaliges Ab- und Neuschminken, was verständlicherweise als lästig empfunden wird.
