Erfindungsgemäß werden statt der bisher gebräuchlichen Faserstoffe Metalldrähte verwendet. Die Metalldrähte gelangen entweder in Form von kurzen Drahtstücken (Hackdraht) oder langen dünnen Drähten zur Anwendung. Die Metalldrähte sind in der Masse ungeordnet verteilt. Zur Erhöhung der Widerstandskraft gegen Zug- und Druckspannungen können die Platten auf an sich bekannte Weise überdies mit geordnet verteilten Metallfäden, Metallnetzen oder ähnlich wirkenden Mitteln bewehrt werden.
