Description

The invention relates to an elastic coupling, preferably for Transmission of smaller torques at high speeds between two offset centers Waves.

The object of the invention is to provide a simple coupling with to create with little effort. This task is solved by one on the ends of the waves firmly pushed on elastic hose with a lying inside Stiffening shaft with spherical ends with as little play as possible in cylindrical ones Bores of the shaft ends is stored.

In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is for example shown.

The figure shows two shafts i and 2, the centers of which are offset from one another by the dimension a. In the illustrated embodiment, the shaft 2 is z. B. the work spindle of a fine boring machine. The work spindle 2 has to be driven by the shaft i via an elastic coupling because of the center offset a, which arises from inaccuracies in the manufacture and from inevitable working movements of the work spindle. The elastic coupling is formed by an elastic hose 3 which is pushed firmly onto the ends of the shafts i and 2. The hose can stick to the shaft ends due to its own tension. However, it can also establish a permanent connection with the shafts by a method of a known type. The hose 3 is expediently made of oil-resistant material, such as. B. made of synthetic rubber, polyvinyl chloride o. The like. Made and is fabric-free. The outside of the hose is smoothed without impact. The elastic coupling of the shafts i and 2 through the hose 3 is preferably suitable for the transmission of high speeds, such as occur in machine tools when drilling and grinding. In these operations, speeds of 3,000 to 40,000 revolutions per minute are common. In order to protect the hose 3 against fluttering movements caused by centrifugal force, a stiffening shaft d is provided in the interior of the hose. The stiffening shaft q. has spherical ends 5, which are mounted in cylindrical bores 6 of shafts i and 2 with as little play as possible. The spherical ends 5 are freely rotatable in the bores 6 so that the torque is only transmitted by the hose 3. The coupling of the shafts i and 2 by the hose 3 therefore not only compensates for the center offset a, but is also torsionally flexible. The spherical ends 5 and the bores 6 are expediently hardened and precisely ground into one another. The shaft i is driven by a belt pulley 7 and is supported in bearings 8. The bearings 8 are held in the stationary housing 9. The shaft 2 is supported by means of a bearing io in a housing ii, which is only shown in part.

The elastic coupling according to the invention also allows a reciprocating movement of the shaft 2 both during standstill and during operation. she is not limited to the illustrated embodiment, but everywhere there usable with success where the object of the invention occurs.
