Description

Process for the production of partially or completely saponified acetate synthetic silk with improved extensibility It is known that the strength of acetate synthetic silk can be increased by subjecting the freshly spun fiber to a subsequent drawing, usually with treatment with boiling water or superheated steam, or the fiber is already subjected is produced according to a special draw spinning process. The drawstring acetate thus produced has the disadvantage that it has insufficient extensibility. -You can remedy this problem by allowing the stretched acetate rayon to subsequently shrink again by passing it through a swelling agent or through solvents diluted with nonsolvents. This treatment allows fibers with a tensile strength of 2 to 3 g / den to be obtained. It has also already been proposed to saponify the drawn acetate silk. With this saponification a further increase in tear strength is achieved, but it is not possible to increase the extensibility by more than 6 to 7% , so that the fiber has found little use in practice despite its very high tear strength.

It has now surprisingly been found that a partial or completely saponified stretched acetate silk with increased elongation of about 8 to 16% in the dry and fully 7 to 15% in the wet state thus produced «- can earth, that the saponification with aqueous ammonia solutions at temperatures of preferably is carried out over 80 ° in a pressure vessel. A particular advantage of this process still lies in the fact that the saponification takes much shorter times than at room temperature can be carried out and that the concentrations of the used Ammonia solutions can be greatly reduced.
