Das Boot wird auf der Bordkante bezw. dem Geländer b des Oberdecks in der Weise befestigt, dafs der Kiel zwischen den festen Ansätzen bezw. der Schiene α einerseits und den beweglichen Ansätzen c, Fig. 3 und 4, andererseits gehalten wird. Die unteren Arme der beweglichen Ansätze c werden durch eine Stange d gekuppelt und können vermittelst Handgriffes e gleichzeitig bewegt werden. Von innen lehnen sich einseitige Unterlagkeile f an das Geländer, gegen welche das Boot durch Ketten I gehalten wird. Letztere sind an einem Ende mit Haken m ausgerüstet, die über die Bordkante des zu befestigenden Bootes greifen, während sie· mit ihren anderen Enden an den Trommeln k k befestigt sind, und zwar in der Weise, dafs beim Drehen der Trommelwelle h sämmtliche Ketten zu beiden Seiten des Bootes gleichzeitig angezogen bezw. ausgelassen werden können. Mittelst Sperrrades 0 an der Welle h und an dem Keil f bezw. an irgend einem geeigneten Theil des Geländers befestigter Klinke ρ können die Trommeln k in beliebiger Stellung arretirt werden. An ihrem unteren Ende sind die Jütten drehbar an dem Deck befestigt, so dafs dieselben in ihrer normalen Stellung gegen das Deckhaus stehen , und durch einen Schlitz in dem Oberdeck hindurchreichen. Unter dem letzteren liegt eine horizontale Schraubenspindel t und, innerhalb der Jütte ein seitlich geführter Klotz s, Fig. 7 (Schnitt nach A-B, Fig. 2) und Fig. 8, durch welchen ein Stift s¹ hindurchragt, dessen Enden einerseits in einem verticalen Schlitz der Jütte, andererseits in einem Horizontalschlitz des Schraubenspindelkaslens t^x geführt wird. Der Klotz ist mit einem der Spindel t entsprechenden Gewinde versehen und wird beim Drehen der Spindel t hin- und herbewegt; da aber der Klotz durch den Stift s¹ vertical in der Jütte geführt wird, so wird beim Bewegen desselben nach der Bordkante hin die Jütte q um ihren Drehpunkt bewegt und legt sich infolgedessen mit ihrem oberen Ende über die Bordkante hinweg.
