Derartige Auszugsbretter haben in mindestens einer Flachseite muldenartige Aussparungen _t die sum Aufnehmen z.B. von Büroutensilien wie Bleistifte, Radiergummi usw. dienen. Früher hat man derartige Auszugsbretter wenigstens teilweise aus Holz hergestellt. Wegen der einfacheren Verarbeitung und einer guten Ausnutzung der zur Verfügung stehenden Fläche für die Unterbringung von Mulden für die Aufnahme von Büroutensilien usw. werden derartige Auszugsbretter jedoch vorzugsweise aus Kunststoff hergestellt. An ihren Schmalseiten besitzen derartige Auszugsbretter Aussparungen, mit denen sie Gleitleisten umgreifen, die am Schreibtisch od.dgl. Möbel befestigt sind. Derartige Auszugsbretter besitzen zahlreiche Vorteile, insbesondere wenn sie aus Kunststoff bestehen. Wegen der bereits erwähnten vielfältigen Gestaltungsweise und einfachen Herstellbarkeit sind solche Auszugsbretter auch gut zu reinigen, und verziehen sich nicht.
