Die in geringer Entfernung von einander gelagerten, zu einander parallelen Scheiben sind unter einem Winkel von ungefähr γο° gegen die Bahn gestellt, welche der Block zu durchlaufen hat, weshalb sie dem Block eine schraubenähnliche Bewegung ertheilen, d. h. sie veranlassen gleichzeitig eine Dreh- und Vorschubbewegung des Blockes. Der Block wird theils von den Scheiben und theils von Rollen geführt, welche den Block an der den Scheiben entgegengesetzten Seite stützen; die Scheiben sind nur so weit von einander entfernt, dafs bei gewöhnlicher Blocklänge wenigstens zwei Scheiben gleichzeitig auf den Block zur Führung und Bewegung desselben wirken.The block (wood) is fed in by means of round, circumferential, toothed disks, between which and the debarking disk the block is inserted. Die Scheiben c sitzen lose auf ihren Wellen und werden von Reibungsscheiben g und h der Wellen mitgenommen ; die Scheibe h ist fest, die Scheibe g dagegen auf der Welle verschiebbar angeordnet, um gegen die Scheibe c mittelst einer auf der Welle verschraubbaren Flügelmutter k angezogen werden zu können.
