gebundenen, z. B. aus Lederabfällen gewonnenen Lederfasern besteht.Process for making leather substitutes The present invention
concerns the production of; Leather substitute, which is essentially made up of rubber
bound, e.g. B. consists of leather fibers obtained from leather waste.
Such leather substitute is made by the customary, known processes
prepared in such a way that the aqueous slurry of the leather fiber is mixed with dilute rubber dispersions,
z. B. diluted rubber milk mixes that, if after mixing is complete
the rubber does not deposit itself on the fibers, the deposit
caused by the addition of precipitants and that the rubber-coated
Leather fiber containing mass z. B. on devices such as those used in the paper industry
are common, mechanically dewatered, dried and optionally pressed.
These working methods can only be carried out if the
Rubber dispersions, e.g. B. to mix the rubber milk to the leather pulp without
that coagulation occurs, and the rubber after admixture while maintaining the
Pour down the flowability of the fiber mass on the fiber.
at
Adding the Kautschul: dispersiori to the leather pulp according to the known methods
however, it often happens that the rubber immediately coagulates in the form of coarse flakes.
With strong stabilization by adding considerable amounts of stabilizing agents
with chewing gruel: dispersion or with the leather pulp before mixing, you can if necessary
achieve that the rubber dispersion does not coagulate :; but then it occurs frequently
the problem that even after the addition of precipitating agents the Kautschulz
can not be completely precipitated, so that it partially during the drainage
is also removed. It can also happen that the mixing occurs without coagulation
can be carried out, but that while stirring the mixture simultaneously with the precipitation
of the rubber on the fibers a clumping of the fiber mass occurs, so
that it can no longer be processed after standing for a short time.
B. verschiedener
Gerbung, z. B. loh- bzw. chromgegerbte Abfälle mit verschiedenem Gerbstoffgehalt,
verschiedenem Säuregrad usw. verarbeitet werden müssen.Attempts have been made to overcome these difficulties e.g. B. through precise dosing
of stabilizing and precipitating agents and the setting of a certain pH value
to overcome the mix. However, these measures often do not have their purpose
met, especially when leather waste of various types, e.g. B. different
Tanning, e.g. B. tanned or chrome-tanned waste with different tannin content,
different acidity etc. have to be processed.
It is known that hemoglobin, casein, blood and egg albumin,
Turkish red oil, sodium silicate, etc. can be used as stabilizers.
It is also known that when processing asbestos fibers, the tendency
the rubber milk for coagulation is particularly large. It has now been surprising
found that it is hemoglobin in the manufacture of rubber milk products
and leather fibers are found particularly in quantities of about 2 to 10 parts to 100 parts
Dry rubber material is ideally suited as a protective colloid. Other stabilizers,
such as B. salts of organic sulfonic acids, proteins, plant mucilages, inorganic
Salts do not have this beneficial effect. The addition of
2 to 100 / o hemoglobin, calculated on the dry rubber material, for the rubber dispersion
or to the pulp or to both can be mixed with leathers of various degrees of acidity
and tanning types obtain a uniform and lump-free rubber pulp.
Depending on the type of leather, the rubber hits the surface by itself in a short time
The fiber, or it can be reduced by the gradual addition of so much of a precipitant
such as B. acid, tannin or salts with polyvalent cations are precipitated.
No agglomeration occurs when the pulp is stirred or left to stand for a long time
the crowd. Rather, this remains for a long time, e.g. B. for days, unchanged and processable.
Beispiel i Man stellt
In particular, when using chrome-tanned leather waste, it has been shown that by mixing the pulp and the rubber dispersion in the presence of hemoglobin, the precipitation process can be regulated as desired and premature coagulation of the chewing powder dispersion can be avoided. Example i A mixture of the following composition is prepared: 130 parts of a stabilized 75% rubber milk concentrate, 40 parts 100% hemoglobin solution, 0.4 parts of a preservative such as B. Chlormetacresol, 100 kg of a 30 / own leather fiber pulp, which was obtained by grinding tanned sole leather waste with the addition of water in a Dutch or in a hammer mill, are mixed with 1.7 kg of the above-mentioned hemoglobin-containing rubber milk mixture, after this has been mixed tenfold beforehand Volume diluted with water. After the mixing is complete, enough alum solution is added until the liquid is clear. The result is a stable fiber pulp which can be processed for a long time and which is processed on plates in the usual manner with mechanical dewatering. The plates produced in this way are suitable for soles. EXAMPLE 2 100g of a .o / oigen fiber pulp made from chrome-tanned leather fibers are mixed with 21 / z kg of a rubber milk containing 41 / o hemoglobin with 40/9 dry substance.
The amount of solid rubber substance is accordingly 25% of the dry leather fiber substance.
If the rubber deposits itself on the fibers, the pulp becomes without
processed further addition. If the crackdown does not take place by itself, then adds
gradually adding so much of a 50% tannin solution, with stirring, until the liquid
it's clear. Further processing can then take place. The leather obtained leaves
process themselves into wallets, for example.

z. B. Chlbrmetakresol.
