Äthylalkohol, sehr unbeständig sind.Process for the preparation of water-insoluble monoazo dyes
It is known that by combining diazo compounds by diazotization
from aromatic amines containing at least two nitro groups
be, with coupling-capable amines, which as a result of the presence of an unsubstituted
or substituted "imino group are capable of coupling to form violet and blue monoazo dyes
has arrived. The production of such dyes offers a number of
Cases of great difficulty because the diazo compounds of certain amines from the
above group against water and also against other solvents, e.g. B.
Ethyl alcohol, are very unstable.
vornimmt. It has now been found that these water-insoluble monoazo dyes
can be obtained in great purity and good yield when one considers the union
of the diazo compounds with the coupling components in the presence of methyl alcohol
undertakes.
in Methylalkohol zusetzt.
It is expedient to proceed in such a way that the coupling component is used
Dissolves in methyl alcohol and the diazo compound, first in dissolved
Shape,
z. B. in concentrated Scliw #ic acid, a strongly cooled solution of the coupling component
added in methyl alcohol. The methanolic solution can also have an alkali-binding agent
Means such as B. sodium acetate, 'Z \ Tatriuincarlloilat, ammonia in liquid or
also in the gaseous state. Salts of ammonium, magnesium, calcium, and also
organic bases such as pyridine can be added. In other cases it can
be appropriate to the solution before or during the union with the Diazoverbindang
Add sodium methvlate, which should be done especially if there is sensitivity
the diazo compound is extremely large compared to water.

B. auf etwa 5oo Teile.EXAMPLE 7.2 parts of sodium nitrite are dissolved in 10% concentrated water
