B. in offenen,
kleinen Zimmeröfen, in Schneiderbügeleisen, in Backöfen, in Räuchervorrichtungen,
Retorte zunächst zwecks Trocknung in üblicher Weise schnell erhitzt, dann etwa vom
Man
Process for the production of a highly porous and slightly flammable
Brown coal hot coke Brown coal hot coke is generally produced in such a way that
that the starting coal is crushed, dried and, if necessary, pressed into shaped pieces,
smoldered, cooled down while avoiding air admission and finally through
Exposure to water mist is artificially aged. Such brown coal coke
is capable of many uses, but for some purposes where the fuel is not
is to be burned in moving, but in stagnant air, z. B. in open,
small room stoves, in tailor's irons, in ovens, in smokers,
In particular, smoking barrels for church purposes and the like, at least not particularly
suitable, since its smoldering capacity is too low for this, .d. H. its degree of porosity
it is not such that the lumpy good is quieter when it has caught fire
Air continues to burn like tinder. It has now been found that ma; n with a certain
Procedure leads to a highly porous and highly flammable brown coal coke,
which due to these properties continues to glow in stagnant air and thus
can also be used with the greatest success for the aforementioned purposes. this
is achieved according to the invention by the fact that bitumen-poor brown coal (tar content below
about 6 ° / o) with at least about 40 ° / o pit moisture in an indirectly heated
The retort is first heated quickly in the usual way for drying purposes, then for example from the
Beginning of tar release, the temperature is further heated by means of heating gases
the temperature inside the retort does not exceed about 5 ° / o,
and that the low-temperature coke is artificially aged without the addition of water.
Man
has already made the proposal to heat coal by passing it through, essentially
to coke against the coal inactive gas in such a way that the distillation means
several independent streams of heating gas is made, which successive

It is also known to operate smoldering furnaces in such a way that
