Description
Process for the production of a matured alkali cellulose by alkalizing of moist cellulose pulp In a production process that is still common today and maturation of alkali cellulose for viscose manufacture is used in the pulp Form of sheets or plates in immersion presses i bis. i '/., lockers long with n atronlatige niercerized, then freed from the excess lye by pressing and then subjected to a crushing in Zerii @ erern. The frayed Alkalic is elhilose then, before it is processed on viscose, in large drums or bunkers Subject to maturation process. With this procedure it is necessary to use the plunge presses to be reloaded with cellulose sheets after each immersion and after each squeezing process. This is a cumbersome procedure, and has therefore often gone over to the alkalization as well as the pre-ripening process continuously zti.
For example, one has pulp webs continuously through the 1 ″ tereerizing liquor and after squeezing off the excess lye between l'nA rollers, the cellulose balin Continuously passed through the ripening room in a thin layer.
Furthermore, in order to shorten the ripening process, pulp before the Alkalization broken down into fibers of less than 0.2 mini or chopped up in the Hollander, brought into sheet form and the dried pulp in the form of endless webs led the alkalizing liquor. Has to accelerate the maturation of alhalicellulose one also the allzalized, by pressing off excess Caustic soda freed allcalicellulose balin passed over heated rollers. The intermediate drying of the pulp, however, brings the risk of the pulp sheets becoming impaired with a reduction in the swelling of the pulp in the liquor. This works has an unfavorable effect on the alkalization.
The procedures described are never applicable everywhere, as they are attached to it bound # i are that pulp in roll form is used. Also it is for one uniform and uninterrupted work necessary that the cellulose web in even and thin layer is present. If the layer is too thick the cellulose web is not completely mercerised in depth. Is the layer thickness unevenly, uniform mercerization does not occur either, and so does it the pulp web easily tears at the thin spots.
In order to shorten the viscose production process, moist pulp, such as is obtained in the course of pulp production in the dewatering machines, has been sprayed with highly concentrated lye by means of nozzles and the alkali cellulose obtained after thorough kneading has been converted directly into viscose by adding carbon disulfide. Because of the difficult mixability of the thick cellulose pulp with the strong lye and the known much lower swelling of the pulp in strong lyes, however, this one method does not give a very uniform and well-alkalized alkali cellulose. In this process, the temperature of the tercerising layer is from 40 to 50 ° NaOH, and the cellulose content in the alkalising pulp fluctuates between 25 and 75 ° 1 °. It is therefore made alkaline with a highly concentrated lye, which must also be sprayed in so that a more or less uniform impregnation of the pulp is achieved.
It has now been found that one can overcome the difficulties of the above Avoid procedures and a particularly well alkalized, matured alkali cellulose can be obtained if you have moist pulp, which is made by dewatering a through alkaline digestion of wood, straw or other cellulose-containing raw materials pulp obtained is made on dewatering machines, in uninterrupted Operation mercerized with an excess of 18 ° 1 ° sodium hydroxide solution, pressed off and frayed and ripened in a known manner. From the familiar, continuous Mercerization process differs from that of the invention by the immediate one Use of a less viscous pulp, the mercerizing liquor in excess which is squeezed out after alkalization. A spray of the pulp with the lye is not necessary here. The pulp is made up of the excess Lye lightly and evenly permeated and evenly alkalized. Love in this the particular advantages of the method according to the invention.
For example, the pulp is removed from the dewatering machine by the liquor washed down into a container in which the mercerising effect that started when washing away continues and accomplished. The now alkalized pulp is transported by a conveyor conveyed into another container, from which they in turn a drainage machine flows in continuously and precisely dosed by means of suitable devices. In the The dewatering machine removes most of the caustic from the alkalized pulp freed and then further, running through press rollers, up to three times their dry weight squeezed. The pressed alkali cellulose is then fed to a 7_er fiberer.
The alkali cellulose crumbs falls then in a conveying direction, which runs in a correspondingly temperature Rauin and veiläßt this space to achieve the desired degree of ripeness.
