u. ä., zu erhöhen. Man hat wiederholt versucht, diesem Übelstand dadurch abzuhelfen,
daß man dem Chlorat hygroskopische Salze, z. B. Erdalkalichloride, Schwermetallchloride
Weedkillers salts of chloric acid, especially sodium chlorate,
are known as herbicides. However, they exhibit the undesirable property
on, the tendency of organic substances to ignite, e.g. B. of dry parts of plants
and the like to increase. Attempts have repeatedly been made to remedy this problem by
that the chlorate hygroscopic salts, for. B. alkaline earth chlorides, heavy metal chlorides
or hygroscopic chlorates such as calcium, magnesium, aluminum chlorate added
or applied the latter chlorates alone. Additions of silicates, borates,
Phosphates, carbonates, formates and acetates were used. In the end
one looked for the flammability of dry chlorate-treated weeds and the like thereby
to counteract that they were additionally treated with sulfide-containing solutions. With
however, all of these agents were effective in reducing the risk of inflammation
organic substances not reached: all mixed species of weed-killing chlorates
with one or more of the aforementioned additives, their fire-retardant effect exclusively
was based on a moisture content or a tendency to attract moisture,
namely failed in their fire-preventing effect if they were at high air temperatures,
high air dryness and strong sunlight as an additive to the weed-killing
Sodium chlorate were applied. But it is precisely under such conditions that
most fires on chlorate-treated surfaces. The salts used as additives
of the organic acids have a certain fire-retardant effect
however, the disadvantage that they cannot be dried with sodium chlorate
Mix
can because the mixtures of the latter with carbonaceous compounds already
are in themselves fire hazard to a certain extent. Incidentally, larger additives lead
Experience has shown that these substances reduce the herbicidal effect
of the chlorate.
An exceptional position among those proposed for weed killing
As has been found, chlorates only take in potassium chlorate. It carries'
hardly to increase the flammability of the organic substances impregnated with it
at. Its use as a herbicide, however, is due to its low level
Solubility in water is only possible to a limited extent.
A herb-destroying agent containing sodium chlorate was now used
found that at the same time high effect discussed in the above and
does not have the disadvantages occurring when using the known products.
According to the invention, the NTittel consists of your as a weedkiller
for this purpose known sodium chlorate and an addition of potassium chlorate
as well as a non-or hardly water-attracting metal salt, z. B. potassium chloride,
Potassium sulfate, potassium bicarbonate, but preferably potassium chloride, the latter being mentioned
Metal salts can be present individually or in groups in the mixture. An unfavorable one
Influencing the basic material of the mixture with regard to the weed-killing one
Effect and sufficient water solubility when using it takes place through the
the aforementioned additions do not take place. The flammability of the basic material containing chlorate
in a mixture with carbonaceous substances, however, these additives under
the conditions described in paragraph 2 are reduced to a minimum.
The agent according to the invention is preferably ordered from the following mixture proportions:
10 to 50 "/ o sodium chlorate, o to 30 '/ o potassium chlorate, 20 parts non-hydrophilic
Salt, preferably potassium chloride. Deviations from the proportion ranges given above
for the individual components of the mixture up to about 10 "/", however, hardly have any effect
disadvantageous.
