Piston pump with infinitely variable control of the delivery rate It is known
the delivery rate of piston pumps at constant speed during operation
to adjust. For this purpose you have pumps with an additional displacement * or
Auxiliary piston built. The pump piston and the delivery rate have also been made in two parts
thereby rebelling that the part of the piston rod facing the suction chamber is opened
let its intake stroke against an adjustable stop. To this end
a return spring had to be built in, which always had to be strong enough to stop the
front part of the piston rod, which had to overcome the friction of the stuffing box,
perfectly pressed against the stop on each intake stroke. It is clear that the
The strength of the return spring increases with increasing pressure, since the friction in
the stuffing box gets bigger. At very high pressures there is only a limited degree of security
given, as the piston may get stuck.
As is known, in all of these designs, the piston plunger
Compression or tension springs cannot be avoided. The larger space requirement of the pumps is conditional
by the nature of the feathers, is considerable. Also are the previously known piston pumps
of this kind, almost without exception, in more than one place against the outer atmosphere
sealed, which means a further reduction in operational safety. the
Designs of these pumps are therefore limited to a certain pressure.
für Hochdruckapparaturen in chemischen Laboratorien be-
nötigt. However, it is now desirable to manufacture piston pumps adjustable up to unlimited high pressures at constant speed. These are forces loading especially for high-pressure equipment in chemical laboratories.
The invention now consists in the fact that in a piston pump such
Type with change in the stroke of the two-part piston rod of the Pufnp.enraum
facing piston rod part is provided with a stop plate at its end,
that of the inner boundary wall of a participant in the stroke movement of the piston
Union nut is taken along during the suction stroke of the piston. The other driven,
screwed into the union nut and with one end to limit the
Movement of the first piston rod part opposite
the union nut
Serving piston rod part is via a rotatable, by means of a spline connection with the
union nuttex connected sleeve axially adjustable with respect to these two parts.
Finally, on the part of the piston rod that is to be attached to the cylinder, there is a stuffing box seal
appropriate. The drawing shows an embodiment of the invention.
.The two-part piston rod i and ja is on the piston rod part
i-, which is firmly connected to the drive, mixes an external thread. Of the
vorderc piston rod part i, which passes through the stuffing box 7 into the suction chamber of the pump
protrudes, has at the end outside of the suction space a stop plate 5, which is inside
the union nut z lies. The connection between the two piston rod parts
is made by the union nut, which is designed such that the piston rod part
i with its stop plate 5 when the Übenvurfmwtter rotates with its inner boundary wall
can generally be pulled against the piston rod part. In the union nut a are
one or more wedges4 inserted in the outer diameter. About the union nut
a sleeve 3 is pushed, with the 'required number of grooves in its inner diameter
provided eats. The sleeve can be rotated radially by hand or by machine and is
axially limited by the pump body 8 and 9. It can be taken for granted
make all possible variations of this design. The mode of action of the suction
and the pressure stroke is as follows: When sucking in, the driven piston becomes part of the rod
in the case assumed on the drawing move to the right and move the piston rod part
Take i with you as soon as the union nut z with the inner boundary wall against the
Stop plate 5 abuts. The suction volume of the piston pump is therefore equal to the stroke
of the driven piston rod part minus the length of the dead space 6 in the Überurfnritter.
The pump piston has therefore lengthened on its suction stroke and thus the
Reduced suction volume. During the pressure stroke, the attached piston rod becomes part
run empty until it reaches the limit of the first piston rod part with its end
against the stop plate 5. The piston rod i plus ja is at top dead center
of the pressure stroke always the same length. The flow rate is regulated by
that the length of the dead space 6 in the union nut 2 by screwing up or down
the same on the piston rod part is reduced or enlarged, i.e. by
that the driven piston rod ei il yes compared to the union nut 2 and
the sleeve 3 is axially adjustable. The union nut that participates in the lifting movement
a is actuated through the sleeve 3 by means of a spline connection 4. The friction of the stuffing box
7 ensures proper limitation of the piston rod part i in the intake stroke.
However, the suction pressure acting on the piston rod part i must never be so great that
that he indet the friction of the packing gland 7, d. H. that the piston rod part
i not with its stop plate 5 against the piston rod part during the intake stroke
yes may be pressed. This position of the two piston rod parts to one another
is otherwise only available in the intake stroke if the maximum delivery quantity has been set.
Piston pumps equipped with the device described are for unlimited use
to use high pressures. .
