According to the invention, the adhesive strip is pulled off directly from the supply roll through the workpiece uneI <the Air = pressure roller, so that there is no need for this suction wheel. According to the invention, the adhesive strip is brought up to the workpiece by moving the supply roll and a small suction device without first pulling it off pulled off and held taut at the same time.

The invention consists in that the supply roll is mounted on the carrier of the suction finger designed as a slide and the - '$ ai @ eerflllestreifen is passed over a pulley to the Säüger, bringing the free end of the banding strip up to the workpiece takes place with non-rotating supply roll, which rotates after the gripping of the strip by the workpiece and moves back together with the suction finger while pulling off the strip and tightening an exposed piece of strip. As a result, the rotating workpiece is relieved when pulling a strip piece from the supply roll and the forward movement of the supply roll is possible without removing the strip - and, since a suction device is used to advance the end of the strip, the adhesive side of the strip does not touch any part of the machine and the suction device does not touch any part of the machine automatically detaches from the strip during the removal of the adhesive strip from the supply roll and automatically reconnects to the strip at the moment of separating the wrapped piece of strip. 1 In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment. It shows: Fig. I the top view of the device while a strip is being glued around the workpiece, Fig. 2 the front view of the suction finger. The small finger-like suction cup 5, which carries or holds the free end of the banding strip i, is fastened by means of a holder 22 on a slide 21 which is moved back and forth on a fixed slide rail 2o by a pull rod 26. A supply roll 25 and a circumferential roll 24 are also mounted on the carriage 21 by means of holder 23, around which the banding strip i is guided to the suction finger 5 behind the cutting device 16, through which a piece of strip of corresponding length is cut off. At the same time, a valve 6, the slide-like valve rod 7 of which hits a stop screw 9 when the suction cup 5 arrives at the workpiece, spontaneously shuts off the air supply to the suction cup. On the way back, which the sucker immediately starts, the valve rod 7 strikes against a stop cap, which re-opens the airways to the sucker and the banding strip i is sucked in and held again after the piece of strip that is being wound up has been cut off. The banding strip is brought up to the workpiece, - as shown, by pushing the suction cup by means of the carriage 21, during which time the banding strip is initially not unrolled. Only when the beginning of the strip is grasped by the workpiece and the pressure roller 17 as well as by the backward movement of the carriage is the banding strip unwound from the supply roller 25 and rolled up onto the workpiece. Since the air supply to the suction fittger is blocked, the strip i can be pulled off the supply roll 25 unhindered. When the carriage 21 is moved back, the banding strip is held taut between the workpiece and the deflection roller 24. After the workpiece has been completely wrapped and the carriage has reached its starting position, the cutting device 16 comes into action, which cuts the wrapped piece of strip. At the same time the suction line opens again so that the released end of the strip immediately adheres to the suction cup and the new piece of strip can now be carried forward.
