"Composite Cloth"

This invention relates to improvements in the manufacture of leather cloth materials, laminated cloths, and foam-coated ones Cloths.

Leather cloths are made with a cotton cloth that is either knitted or woven as a base reinforcement, with the cotton cloth providing strength and good adhesion for PVC or similar plastic materials. The PVC-coated cloth was then cut to size and shaped and used largely for vehicle seats and household upholstery. The cloth has the properties of

a) Cotton or other fibrous yarn 2 for adhesion to bind the coating to it,

b) continuous fiber yarn 1 for strength, in particular tear strength,

c) synthetic yarn 1 in the weft for woven cloths and tricot stitches in knitted cloths to improve the tear strength in the transverse direction.

Tests have shown that when a jersey cloth is used for PVC coating or for lamination with foam, the cloth improves the tensile strength by $ 35

compared to an ordinary cotton jersey cloth of the same weight, and that the tensile strength of the cloth is increased by 11o % when nylon 66 (high strength nylon) is used. The adhesion tests show that the composite cloth has the same properties as a cloth made from 100 # cotton.
