Der Pflug A, dessen Streichbrett hinten im Loth steht, legt, unterstützt durch einen Krautheber, einen Kartoffelwall derart um, dafs er senkrecht zur Erde steht, das Kartoffelkraut daher platt auf der Erde liegt. Der unmittelbar seitlich dahintergehende Cylinder fährt dabei auf das Kartoffelkraut hinauf und drückt dasselbe fest an die Erde, so dafs ein Hervorziehen unmöglich ist. Zu derselben Zeit durchfurcht das Zinkenrad B den umgelegten Kartoffelwall und reifst dabei die Kartoffeln vom Kraut ab, während die Erde durch die Zinken durchfällt und liegen bleibt.The plow A, whose mouldboard is in the back of the pile, with the help of a haulm lifter, lays down a potato wall in such a way that it is perpendicular to the earth, so the potatoes lie flat on the earth. Der Boden O der Kasten ist ansteigend und wird durch das Zahnrad Q. und die Feder P geschüttelt, so dafs sich Kartoffeln und Steine in einer fortwährenden Bewegung befinden. Dabei werden sie durch den vom Ventilator J verursachten Luftzug in der Weise sortirt, dafs der Wind die leichteren Kartoffeln bergan rollt, während die schwereren Steine dem Wind entgegen bergab rollen und zur Erde fallen. Die Kartoffeln gelangen nach Verlassen der Kasten in die Rinne K und von hier in die Körbe L.
