Der in der Zeichnung in den Fig. 1 bis 6 dargestellte und im Folgenden beschriebene Giefsapparat zur Herstellung von beliebig geformten, durchlochten, gerippten Platten ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dafs ein Rad während seiner Drehung gekühlt wird und dafs von demselben die gegossenen und gekühlten Stücke abgehoben und, durch eine Scheere zerschnitten werden. Das Giefsrad α dreht sich in der Kühlflüssigkeit b. Die unteren Rippen a1, welche eine grofse Oberfläche bieten, tauchen in die Kühlflüssigkeit ein; Auf der Oberseite besitzt das Rad a ein'en ringförmigen Einschnitt a2,-: der mit Stiften, Rippen u. s. w., je nach der Form der zu giefsenden Stücke, versehen ist. In diese obere Höhlung d1 münden die, Eiriflufsöffnungen e, Fig. 2. Aus diesen flie'fst aus dem Schmelzkessel s, Fig. 2, das 'flüssige Metall beständig in die Rinne a2, welche bis zu einer bestimmten Höhe ausgefüllt wird. Da nun die Giefsplatte constant zugeführt und durch Rolle I, Fig. 6, niedergehalten wird, so mufs dieses Messer bei seinem Abgang, nachdem es die Platte abgeschnitten hat, der Weiterbewegung der gegossenen Platte kein Hindernifs bereiten, sondern mufs nach hinten ausweichen können, wie . dies Fig. 6 zeigt. Das Messer m1 ist ein Fallmesser (Fig. 3), d.h. nachdem die Kurbelscheibe f das Messer hochgehoben hat, fällt dasselbe frei herunter, damit der Schnitt durch das weiterschiebende Stück möglichst schnell erfolgt.
