Description
Process for the production of copy models and copy templates for copy milling machines and the like using synthetic resin focuses on a process for the production of copy models and templates for copy milling machines and the like using synthetic resin.
The models for copy milling machines have so far been made of wood or made of stone powder, which is in a liquid state via a counter-mold was cast from wood. Cast metal has also been used.
-..The wooden model as the original model _odI.ex. Original template has the Disadvantage that the wood does not have enough resistance to the stylus of the copy milling machine and the stylus can be pressed into the wood, reducing the accuracy of copying suffers. The stone powder model shows the lack of sharp edges and easily break out thinner free-standing webs. In addition, the stone flour model is also used attacked while scanning by the milling machine's pen. That from a sand mold The cast metal model produced is inaccurate and shows a rough surface, which-9ch'ebe @ at least has an unfavorable effect on the milling work. - ..
According to the invention, it is proposed that non-hardenable iuZd readily meltable Synthetic resins as materials for the models or Templates for copy milling work to use. Synthetic resins are suitable for these purposes, such as. B. polystyrenes or Polyvinyl compounds and the like, particularly mixtures of low and medium Degrees of polymerization. The synthetic resins are said to have the property at temperatures from 8o to i 20 ° to become liquid and to be in the melt flow in the vacuum vessel for so long hold to remove all air bubbles and then still be pourable. When using such synthetic resins, the previous dirt deposits can be avoided. The synthetic resins have sufficient strength, and finer details of the Copy model - it can be exactly represented with the synthetic resin mass. When pouring of the resin compound from the original model, however, difficulties arise because the Synthetic resin bonds extremely firmly with wood or the like. A pour was therefore not possible. By using the well-known model powder with the wooden models be dusted to prevent the molding sand from sticking., these troubles could cannot be fixed.
It has now been found that synthetic resin can be used to produce copy models can be used to cast off the originals without sticking between the synthetic resin mass and the wood of the original takes place when, one of the to be molded Wooden model covered with a layer of wax, applied to this metal dust and then a heat-resistant one, with both the metal layer and the synthetic resin no connection applying paint. This is done in a manner known per se the model fixed in a molding box and filled with liquefied, free of air bubbles Synthetic resin poured out, whereupon the finished hard one after the synthetic resin has solidified Copy model can be lifted off easily.
In the drawing, the manufacturing process is illustrated, wherein the individual applied layers of the wooden model are drawn in exaggeratedly thick are what happened for the sake of clarity.
Fig. I shows a side view of the wooden model a used, which, as can be seen from Fig. 2, is now well coated with a layer of wax c. In the further course of the process, this layer c is provided with a metal layer. Fig-; l. Which is absolutely tightly sealed by the wax c. (You can also spray a fine layer of metal 1 on the wood using a well-known method in order to protect the wood against external influences.) Now the metal dust layer d is coated with a heat-resistant varnish 2 as shown in Fig , which has the property of not combining with the metal chloride, but which also does not combine with the synthetic resin. This lacquer coating e now acts as a separating layer between. Wooden model and a resin coat f and allows for a proper raising of the solidified copying model f from the wooden model a.
The wooden model is in a suitable manner on the bottom of a casting mold b (Wooden box) attached. The side walls are so much higher than the bowel prepared wooden model a, as required by the floor thickness of the copy model f (Fig. 5). The appropriately composed synthetic resin, which can be used at temperatures of 8o to i2o ° becomes liquid, is set in a vacuum vessel under vacuum, set by Air bubbles freed from the start and then placed in the mold with the prepared Cast wooden model a (see Fig. 5). After the synthetic resin overlay has solidified f this can easily be lifted from the wooden model a and now represents the actual Copy model, as shown in Fig.6. The stylus of the copy milling machine can now scan the copied form f 'obtained several times without damaging the form.
