Production of 2,3-dichlorodioxane The subject of patent 705 435 is a process for the production of 2,3-dichlorodioxane, in which chlorine is allowed to act on vaporous dioxane. Under the conditions described in more detail in the patent, at Temperatures of 100 to i35 ° very good yields of 2,3-dichlorodioxane.
It has now been found that the process can also be carried out with good yield
and can significantly increase the speed of implementation if
a mixture of chlorine and an excess. of vaporous dioxane temperatures
over i35 'suspends. The best temperature range is between 16o and i70 °,
but you can also at an even higher temperature, z. B. at about igo °, work.
Derivaten des Dioxans fast völlig frei ist, wird aus den Umsetzungsgasen abgetrennt;
It is advisable to mix the chlorine with an excess of dioxane
made before the actual implementation. Man-ver-dioxane and leads the fumes,
which may be diluted by gases or vapors that are not involved in the implementation
through a vessel in which the chlorine is added. The temperature of the dioxane fumes
is advantageously not significantly above the boiling point of the dioxane, and the flow rate
is dimensioned so high that there is no flame. As a result of the exothermic course
least "during the mixing onset of the reaction
for the
Implementation-most favorable temperature reached. You stay at this temperature for so long
until the chlorine is used up. The 2. 3-dichlorodioxane, that of higher chlorinated
Derivatives of the dioxane is almost completely free, is separated from the reaction gases;
the unchanged dioxane is expediently recycled.
go° in flüssiges Dioxan, gegebenenfalls in Anwesenheit von Chlorierungskatalysatoren,
des Dichlordioxans, selbst ohne Verwendung von Katalysatoren, sehr viel rascher;
It is already known to dichlorodioxane by introducing chlorine at go ° into liquid dioxane, optionally in the presence of chlorination catalysts, eg. B. of iodine or tin tetrachloride to produce. In this known process, the reaction takes a long time, the chlorine introduced is poorly utilized, and a large part of the dioxane is lost. Because, according to the invention, the chlorination of the dioxane is carried out in the gas phase, the preparation of the dichlorodioxane proceeds much more quickly, even without the use of catalysts; one can thus achieve greater sales in a device of the same size than with the known methods.
bis 95%.Example i i3oo 1 dioxane vapor from ho 'are in a tube at a
Flow rate of about 2 m / s mixed with 300 liters of chlorine over the course of 1 hour.
This amount of chlorine is sufficient for chlorination from 1 / s to 1/7 of the amount of dioxane used
the end. When the mixture is complete, the temperature has risen to about 15o to 16o °.
The mixture is left at this temperature for 15 to 17 seconds and then
Chilled to 2o to 30 °. The unreacted Diaxan is obtained from the reaction mixture
separated by fractional distillation; it can be chlorinated again. That
remaining 2,3-dichlorodioxane contains less than 50; 'o of more highly chlorinated
Products. The yield, calculated on the chlorine used, is about go
up to 95%.
In
feiner Verteilung eingeblasen. Die die Rohre verlassenden Dämpfe werden kondensiert;
89%.Example 2 In an i oo mm wide. and 6oo mm long glass tube that.
the lower third is filled with glass rings and heated from the outside to 14o to 15o '
7901 dioxane vapor from i 50 'are introduced every hour at the upper end. In
the upper half of the pipe is fed hourly through two openings 1401 of a mixture,
consisting of 87 parts by volume of chlorine and 13 parts by volume of nitrogen in as much
fine distribution blown in. The vapors leaving the pipes are condensed;
the dioxane is separated from the condensate by fractional distillation and
introduces it back into the conversion space in vapor form. The remaining raw
Dichlorodioxane still contains about 180/10 more highly chlorinated compounds. The yield
calculated on the chlorine used. 89%.
