Es wurde gefunden, daß man solche das menschliche Haar .nicht schädigende und leicht wieder entfernbare Färbungen bewirken kann, wenn man das Haar vor dem Färben mit sauren Farbstoffen einer Vorbehandlung mit solchen kalionaktiven wasserlöslichen Substanzen unterwirft, die von dem Haar absorbiert werden und mit den sauren Gruppen der Farbstoffe in unlösliche Farbstoffammonidmdoppelverbindungen überzugehen vermögen. Die kationaktiven Substanzen solcher Art sind z. B. die Biguanide höherer Fettsäuren,. wie z. B. Stearylbiguanid, Palmitylbiguanid, Oleylbiguaiüd, Laurylbiguanid, ferner die Salze quaternärer Ammoniumbasen, wie z. B. Heptylpyridiniumbromid, Octodecylpyridiniumchlorid und Trimethyllaurylammoniumchlorid. Als saure Farbstoffe kommen sulfonsäure-, omegasulfonsäure- und sulfatohaltige wasserlösliche Mono- und Polyazofarbstoffe in Frage. Man erhält je nach der Natur des Haares und der Stärke des Färbebades Färbungen von den hellsten bis zu den dunkelsten Tönungen, die wasserfest sind, aber durch Waschen mit einer Seife oder mit einem anderen geeigneten Emulgiermittel ohne weiteres .entfernt werden können. Die Färbungen selbst verleihen dem Haar zum Unterschied gegenüber anderen bekannten Mitteln einen vollen und weichen Griff. Beispiele i. Eine o,2o!oige Lösung von Stearylbiguanidchlorhydrat wird auf ein naturweißes Haar durch Einbürsten aufgebracht, gespült und anschließend mit einer o, i 5 ojoigen Lösung von Supramingelb R (G. Schultz, Farbstofftabellen, 7. Auflage, 1934, Ergänzungsband I, S. i35) behandelt.
