Method for speed control of DC motors in the armature circuit
Via grid-controlled steam or gas discharge paths with a constant current
The well-known mode of operation for DC motors that are controlled via

A small grid-controlled rectifier is also useful for supplying the motor field
or a small reversing converter is used, with which the field changes as well
the field can also be reversed in the simplest @, # parts. in
Fig. I is such an automatic speed control for a converter

An advantage of such an arrangement is that it is possible for both engine

grolle torque corresponding to twice the nominal value of the excitation current only during
of the start-up operation of the engine and at low engine speeds.
At higher speeds, the torque does not normally need to be greater than the normal value

because the excitation current then remains sufficiently small anyway. It will arise in this case
no difficulties with the intended current limit. But it is also conceivable.

the counter-voltage of the engine is correspondingly grumpy. The armature voltage of the motor

The main rectifier is now dimensioned for the nominal voltage of the motor.

Now to the desired speed-dependent change of the maximum value

the greater the voltage on the tachometer dynamo 16, and the less it needs
to be the voltage drop across resistor 12 to allow current to flow through the dry rectifier

the excitation current decreased more and more. Set the maximum value of the excitation current

the speed at which a constant power is achieved for the motor. The change

Armature voltage can also be done in a simple manner that the resistor
12 is changed accordingly. In this case, for example, the voltage
the tachometer dynamo or the armature voltage actuate a relay or a servo motor,
through which the resistor 12 in the desired sense and in the correct gradation
is adjusted.
