Die Neuheit des auf der Zeichnung dargestellten Wasserleitungshahnes liegt in der Art der Abdichtung des Ventilsitzes. Der Erfinder verwendet als Abschlufs einen- lederartigen Gummiring, der einerseits nachgiebig genug ist, um stets einen durchaus dichten Verschluss zu sichern, andererseits auch so wenig verschleifst, dafs er für mehrere Jahre ohne Erneuerung ausreicht.The novelty of the tap shown in the drawing lies in the type the sealing of the valve seat. Der Gummiring ist nachgiebig genug, um die Eindrücke des Gewindes oberhalb des Ringes b nach dem Durchschrauben dieses Ringes bald verschwinden zu lassen; dadurch, dafs das Ventil g von oben drückt, wird auch die innere Wandung des Ringes α nach innen gedrückt, so dafs der Ring die in der Figur angegebene Form annimmt und in seiner Lage allseitig so festgehalten wird, dafs eine Veränderung dieser Lage nicht möglich ist.The metal ring b is equipped with a cross bar c so that it can be screwed into the housing; the key shown in Fig. 2 s pafst for this crossbar.
