Description
Process for the production of a tabular fiber material Die produced on the basis of pulp, usable in sheet or slab form Fiber materials such as pulp sheets, paper and cardboard are known to be flat lying matted fibers. Paper, cardboard and the like also have a very dense fiber structure. The surface is smooth and the rollability is poor even with moderate thickness. These Materials also have a tendency to crack in their surface in the direction of the grain form.
In contrast, the invention is based on the object of providing a sheet or panel form usable fiber material with felted fibers to create the has a velvet-like or brush-like open fiber structure on the surface of use, therefore velvety to the touch, pliable and easy to roll, and impregnating agent absorbs well. This object is achieved according to the invention in that 'blocks from Fiber pulp sheets with flat, rectified matted fibers through Cuts across the grain in panels with perpendicular to the panel surface standing fibers are broken down. It is already known to use synthetic wood plank to produce that blocks of cardboard boards glued together with flat lying, rectified fibers are cut into boards across the grain. There are also punching blocks known that are used in place of end-grain blocks and consist of upright, glued fiber layers. With these known synthetic woods, the fibers are like those according to the invention made panels perpendicular to the surface of use. As is well known, the synthetic woods have not the velvet-like or brush-like open fiber arrangement of the inventively produced Panel. This difference is based on the fact that the fiber structure is in blocks: from fiber pulp slabs much less dense and the felting of the fibers is much less intimate than in cardboard or. made of such synthetic woods.
The panels produced by the process of the invention are also softer, more flexible and easier to roll than the same strength Cardboard panels. As a result of the velvet or brush-like open fiber arrangement, the Boards for liquid or paste-like binders. far more absorbent than cardboard. You can therefore from the panels produced according to the invention by treatment with Suitable binders produce materials similar to linoleum or synthetic wood are similar or have novel properties. Also the production of synthetic wood is easier than before, because the operations previously necessary to produce the cardboard can be saved substantially in the process according to the invention.
As is well known, cardboard has a tendency to crack when it is rolled or bent form. This error is in the panels produced according to the invention as a result of the velvet or brush-like fiber structure avoided.
The panels can, because they run across the grain Sections: are produced, are kept very thin, so that they are sheet-like or foil-like are.
The panels produced according to the invention can be used in a known manner or blocks are colored before, during. or after creation. The product the method according to the invention can also be used in the usual way with others Unite materials, e.g. B. refer to wood veneer.
One embodiment of the method is for example below described: It is cheapest to start with standardized panels that are known in Way are made from a pulp of any suitable type. It's general known that the fibers in a sufficiently wet fiber mass in the same direction Lay flat and felted in the process. Such plates are made from a wide variety of fiber materials available in the stores. The choice of fiber material depends on the particular properties required by the process product. One uses, for example Sheets 0.5 m wide, 1.0 m long and 20 to 40 mm thick. Such boards are combined into blocks by layering and bonding with glue, what must be ensured that the fibers lying flat in the block are in the same direction - are. It is advisable to use adhesives that do not offer any greater resistance to cutting than the fibers themselves. You can also join the individual panels like veneers, to get larger areas. For example, if the end product of the process a board or: a sheet of 5, o m long, i, o m wide and 3 mm thick, so five plates, each 1 m in length, are joined together to form a plate 5 in length. Such panels are stacked and glued together until one Block has been reached, the height of which corresponds to the width of the panel to be generated, in the assumed case therefore i, o m. This block will be after the tie layers have dried under pressure by cutting vertically with a saw or a Veneer knife disassembled into the desired panels of 3 mm thickness, making the cuts be guided across the grain.
The use side of the board is formed by the cut surface, to which the fibers are perpendicular. By cutting, the fiber entanglement is has become looser than before, and there is the fiber structure of the pulp sheets themselves is not leak-proof, the panels on the areas in use show the aforementioned velvet or brush-like open texture so that they are soft to the touch, resilient are easy to roll and absorb impregnating agents well.
