Description

Der optimale Wert für den Vanadiumzus, atz liegt etwa in der Gegend von o,oo5 bis o,oi %.Electric discharge lamp or fluorescent tube with a filling Noble gases and mercury and a luminophore layer excited by the mercury radiation - Addendum to patent 656 213 The subject of patent 6562r3 is> an electric discharge lamp or fluorescent tube with a filling of Edelases and mercury and one through the 'mercury radiation excited uminophore layer, made of cadmium phosphate, the is appropriately activated by a small addition of manganese. It has now been established that with such discharge lamps or fluorescent tubes a significantly longer afterglow of the luminophore is achieved by adding a small amount of vanadium to the Ga: dsnium phosphate can be. This afterglow is with AC-powered discharge lamps and fluorescent tubes are particularly desirable because they are known to cause the unpleasant appearance the flicker is suppressed. The afterglow is particularly strong in Excitation of the luminophore with the short-wave ultraviolet of the Queeksilbiex low-pressure discharge, thus with wavelengths between 2ooo and 3ooo A. The proportion of the luminophore The added vanadium is expediently chosen not larger than t%, since larger amounts reduce the yield of visible luminescence radiation. An increase in the afterglow period can already be at as little vanadium additions as o, ooi found will. The optimum value for the vanadium additive is around 0.05 to o, oi%.

The increase in the afterglow period is particularly evident, if thy.-cadmium phosphate, in addition to your small addition of vanadium, for improvement Cadmum chloride or magnesium chloride is added to the light output. The vanadium addition takes place appropriately in the form of Vanadnumpentoxyd. The mixture is made in the same way , dried and calcined as described in patent 656213. The luminophore can then in the same way as stated in the said patent for cadmium phosphate, particularly well using a phosphoric acid layer on the vessel wall of Attach discharge lamps or fluorescent tubes or on the screens assigned to them.
