Die bekannten Straßenbegrenzungspfosten sollen der Sicherheit im Straßenverkehr dienen und insbesondere bei Nacht und Nebel durch ihre weiße Farbe und die angebrachten Rückstrahler den Verlauf der Straßen deutlich kenntlich machen. Diesen Zweck können sie aber nicht erfüllen, wenn sie bei nassen Straßen, insbesondere im Winter bei Sand- und Salzstreuung durch aufgewirbelten Schmutz dunkel werden und die Rückstrahler verdreckt sind. Die dann in kurzen Zeitabständen erforderlich werdende Reinigung der verschmutzten Pfosten erfordert einen sehr großen Zeitaufwand mit entsprechenden Kosten und ist, da sie ja vielfach bei schlechtem Wetter erfolgen muß, für die ausführenden Personen sehr lästig und bei starkem Verkehr nicht ungefährlich. Meist kann diese Reinigung aus Personalmangel nicht in den erforderlichen kurzen Zeitabständen durchgeführt werden, so daß die Pfosten ihren Zweck nur mangelhaft erfüllen können.The well-known road marker posts are intended to serve safety in road traffic and, in particular at night and in fog, make the course of the streets clearly recognizable by their white color and the attached reflectors. Bei Verschmutzung der Hüllen werden diese abgezogen und durch saubere ersetzt.
