Griffe mit seitlichen Daumenauflagen versehen sind, bieten diese keine Unterstützungsfläche
beim Aufstellen des Bügeleisens auf die Aufstellstütze. Wollte man sie benutzen,
so würden, da diese Auflagen nicht in der Mittelachse des Bügeleisens angeordnet

von denen die erstere die Kraft für die Aufstellbewegung hergibt, die letztere die
Bewegung dadurch unterstützt, daß sie zum festen Andrücken des Drehpunktes auf die
Unterlage beiträgt. Außerdem ist aber auch durch die Mitheranziehung des Daumens
zur Aufstellbewegung der Hebelarm des angreifenden Daumens bedeutend größer geworden
gegenüber dem üblichen Aufstellen des Bügeleisens, bei dem nur die Hand den Griff
umfaßt und der Kraftangriff ein recht ungünstiger ist. Abb. 3 zeigt ein Bügeleisen
