Gegenstand der auf beiliegender Zeichnung dargestellten Vorrichtung ist ein Wasserverschlufs für Aborte, namentlich solche, bei denen keine Wasserspülung erfolgt. Der Verschlufs zeichnet sich in erster Linie durch seinen geringen Wasserverbrauch aus, der seine Anwendung selbst dann gestattet, wenn die Einführung von' Wasser in die Abortgrube oder Tonne thunlichst vermieden werden soll. Die Anbringung des Verschlusses am oberen Rande des Abortbeckens gewährt den ferneren Vortheil, dafs nicht nur Grube und Abfallrohr, sondern auch das Becken selbst gegen aufsen abgeschlossen ist, so dafs dem Uebelstande vorgebeugt ist, dafs im Becken befindliche Fä'calien die Luft der Wohnräume verderben.The subject of the device shown in the accompanying drawing is a water seal for abortions, especially those that do not have to be flushed with water. In jedem Falle ist für eine dichte Verkittung des die Rinne b tragenden Falzes b^l mit dem Becken Sorge zu tragen. In die Rinne b taucht nun der senkrecht stehende Rand c¹ des Deckels c ein. Die Rinne b wird in geeigneter Weise beständig mit Wasser gefüllt erhalten, am besten derart, dafs der Wasserverlust (durch Verdunstung, beim Eintauchen des Deckels u. s. w.) selbstthätig ausgeglichen wird. In der Zeichnung ist zu diesem Zwecke eine Einrichtung vom Princip der Stürzflasche angenommen. Die Rinne b steht mit einer Schale d in Verbindung, in welche das Rohr d¹ der Stürzflasche d², Fig. 2, mündet. Letztere besteht aus einem nach der Füllung dicht verschlossenen Behälter.
