Description
Basic Monocular Optical Rangefinder This invention relates to a basic range finder for photographic and cinematographic cameras; He belongs to the group of those devices that are at the ends of the base two lenses of a dispersing character are located, each of which has a reduced, however, create vertical and laterally correct virtual image that after mirroring over two reflectors placed in parallel viewed through a common eyepiece (converging lens) will; that by a dividing line into two parts of the same or different Resized image appears on a reduced scale. The structure of the rangefinder can also be marked so that the negative lenses are reversed two Galilean telescopes are spaced from the base while the gem, lonely eyepiece lies in the middle of the same. Between the said optical Links are arranged with two mirrors or prisms with parallel reflective surfaces Mirror reversal is canceled. The virtual image lying in front of the negative lenses So it still appears not only vertically, but also laterally, and at Correct choice of the distance between the two lenses and their dimensions results also an angle of view that corresponds to that of the subject.
In order to increase the height of such rangefinders in the vertical direction to reduce, according to the invention, the optical center of the negative lenses, if these are only half done, on one side of the base below, and laid on the other side above the horizontal line, which with a the sides of the rectangular image are parallel. The whole optics make it of the rangefinder. Pivoting (angle a) around the optical axis of the eyepiece, namely with complete retention of the position of the individual links of the range finder to each other.
This measure increases the height of the structure in the vertical direction brought to a minimum and thus a significant reduction in overall dimensions reached by the camera.
The invention is illustrated in the drawings, namely: Fig. I is a schematic plan view of the optical parts of the range finder of known art Kind of the base, Fig. 2, a representation of the same parts seen from the front (in Direction of the eyepiece), Fig. 3 optical arrangement according to the invention, with all Parts of the rangefinder have been swiveled around the center of the eyepiece, Fig. ¢ Representation the position of the lenses at the ends of the base to those limiting the entry of light Hatches.
The two objectives f1, f2 are located at a distance from the base A; the same are negative Character and are functional rectangular Shape. Behind these are the mirrors s1, s2, one of which is known in the art is pivotably arranged. In the middle of the optical axis lies the dividing prism .: system p1, p2 and in front of this the Okulat_ = ü; of collecting effect.
In this known arrangement, as can be seen from Fig only half of the negative lenses f 1, f 2 are effective, and one is with the mechanical center m2 above and the other with the mechanical center ml below the horizontal line of symmetry n-dt. The optical focal point the lens f2 is with tt. and that of the lens /, denoted by itl. The thought The original circumference of the lenses is indicated by a dashed circle. The line that connects the centers of the three lenses is denoted by it-rrz3-n.
In Fig. 3 is a. Pivoting of all optical parts. of the range finder around the center point ins, which coincides with the optical axis of the eyepiece o, made by the angle a. The size of the angle a depends on the one hand on the length of the base J and on the other hand on the size of the lenses f1, f2, especially on their dimensions in the vertical direction. The mechanical center points in., Ml now lie in the horizontal line of symmetry In-M3-171, while the lower long side of the lens / .. and the upper long side of the line f1 fall into the inclined line it-nt3-tt. The entire range finder is therefore inclined to the horizontal by the angle α.
From Fig.q. it can be seen that this oblique length is the optical Components are not easily recognizable from the outside if the size of the slant lying lenses f1, f2 and mirrors s1, s2 larger dimensions than those obtained Inlet openings b1, b2.
